Do you still have a Medical Flexible Spending Account with money leftover for the year ending 2024? You can use it for eye exams, glasses and contact lenses! You don’t need one to schedule, and we do take many vision plans.

I still have some appointments available at my office, Mill Run Vision Center. Give us a call to schedule at 614-876-1766! If we’re busy helping other patients and your call goes to voicemail, leave a message and we will call you back!

I look forward to seeing you! 👀🤓

When viewing the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, please remember:

- Do NOT look at the Sun through a camera lens, telescope, binoculars, or any other optical device WVEN WHILE while wearing eclipse glasses or using a handheld solar viewer — the concentrated solar rays will burn through the filter and cause serious eye injury.

- DO NOT use regular sunglasses of any type to view the eclipse. Even polarized sunglasses will not protect your eyes from the damaging rays of an eclipse.

- DO NOT use just any camera filter to see it with your phone or optical device. You must have a special solar filter attached to it.

- DO NOT forget to wear sunscreen if you are going to be watching it for hours. You can still get sunburned even through it ‘seems dark outside’.

Fun fact - my father’s business, Tyroler and Schecter, Optometrists, sat at the far left of this picture at 26 North High St in downtown Columbus, on the corner of High and Pearl alley from the mid-1970s until 2007, when he passed away.

Prior to that, the business was on the Southwest corner of Broad and High, at 7 West Broad St., where it had been since Tyroler’s grandfather opened up the shop in 1918.

When I graduated from OSU Optometry in 1991, we opened up our second office, Mill Run Vision Center, in Hilliard, where I still practice. So I’m pretty proud to say that I’ve been part of a family practice that has been in business for 106 years 😁
