🎉 We are thrilled to announce that Ashley, an individual supported by our team, has been honored with the 2025 Ross Ryan Self‑Advocacy Award, presented at the Employment First Summit on October 2 in Portland. 🏅

Ashley’s journey toward meaningful employment and self-advocacy has been truly inspiring. With guidance and encouragement from her job coach, Rochelle Moore of PDXconnects, LLC — a provider of job-coaching and independent-living services under contract with the Oregon Department of Human Services' Office of Developmental Disabilities Services — Ashley has grown in confidence, built new skills, and become a powerful voice for herself.

We couldn’t be prouder of Ashley’s achievement and are grateful for Rochelle’s dedication and the support of PDXconnects in helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to pursue competitive, integrated employment. This award reflects Ashley’s courage, determination, and growing leadership — and it reflects our commitment to creating opportunities, fostering independence, and celebrating every success.

See details if you receive SNAP benefits.

If the government shutdown continues, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for November will not be issued until funding resumes. This means that approximately 757,000 Oregonians who receive food assistance through SNAP would not receive new benefits after October 31. We do not administer the SNAP program; the Oregon Department of Human Services does. However, we wanted to share a few resources for our community members who might need food assistance:
