We regret to announce that Hillsboro Health Center will be closing it's doors on April 28, 2021 for the last time. We would be glad to refer patients to one of our other locations in Maxwelton, White Sulphur Springs or Lewisburg, WV. It has been a pleasure to serve the residents of Pocahontas County and hope we can continue to serve you at one of our other facilities.

February is American Heart Month, a time when all people can focus on their cardiovascular health. Rainelle Medical Center wants to remind patients to stay on top of their regular checkups. Hillsboro Health Center would like to introduce our provider, Valarie Monico, PA-C.

Valarie Monico is a native of Pocahontas County. She grew up in Dunmore and has settled back in the county with her husband and two children. She graduated from Pocahontas County High School in 2001. Valarie earned her Master's of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Alderson-Broaddus College in May of 2008. She has been a Physician's Assistant in the Pocahontas County community for over 10 years, first working full-time and then decreasing her hours to part-time over the years, and even taking a brief break from working, in order to focus on her other favorite job of raising her two fast-growing children. After taking some time off, she is back to providing medical care in the Community here at Hillsboro Health Center since December, 2019 and welcomes the opportunity to serve new patients of all ages. Masks are most likely to reduce the spread of COVID-19 when they are widely used by people in public settings.
