🧡🖤🧡It has been a BIG week for many in our home town. As always the Hillsboro community support, topper pride and friendship has been STRONG and inspired us all!! So after the week, here is a breathwork sequence for us all to take a moment to pause, process and be present. Please share this post, send it to the people you know need it the most. 💛
✨Breathwork before bed…
Whether you’re out in the world tonight with friends or home snuggled with pets and your own company here is a little reset to reach for BEFORE bed.
It really doesn’t take more than 1 minute to bring a better sleep tonight by preparing and setting the intention. Perhaps start with a hot caffeine free drink then settle in your seat.
🫁Let’s breathe together, first unclench your jaw, drop your shoulders away from your ears and roll your tongue our flat inside your mouth so that it’s low and touching your front bottom teeth softly.
Bring your awareness down to your belly and allow it go soft like a marshmallow. Drop deeper into your seat and sigh out your next exhale.
Let’s start, reset breath IN - nose, OUT - mouth. Now breathe IN - nose 4, OUT mouth 6 from soft pursed lips. Take 5 rounds
Now breathe IN - nose 4, 3 small sips all the way to the top. Now hold, feel the power in the suspension, pelvic lock, ground through the base, hold it, hold it, hold it, 4, 3, 2, 1, HAAAAA out of your mouth. Just like in class, take 2-3 rounds more.
(If this felt a little harder to follow, don’t stress, it’s easy to pick up in just one class at CENTRE, just ask your yogi friends who already come!)
Your nervous system wants a slower life. You don’t have to slow down, being intentional and reaching for regulation through your practice can be life changing!
