Many people are not aware of the wonderful scholarship offered by Alzheimer's New Jersey to give NJ family caregivers a break from care giving. To apply for this scholarship, the primary caregiver must live with the person with dementia in NJ and must agree to spend the scholarship money on a certified home health aide from a licensed agency, adult day care, or a temporary overnight stay in a senior facility. NJ legislation requires home health care service firms to be registered with the Division of Consumer Affairs. As a condition of this registration the home care agency must obtain accreditation from a home health care accrediting firm. The Department of Human Services and the Division of Consumer Affairs recognizes CAHC (Commission on Accreditation for Home Care) as an accrediting agency from which home health care service firms can receive their required accreditation. CAHC is the only accrediting agency that operates exclusively in NJ. CAHC’s mission is “to promote the delivery of high-quality home care services to the communities in the State of New Jersey”.

Turo Care donated a "movie night" basket for the silent basket auction at Bridgeway Care & Rehabilitation Center on October 18th. All proceeds for the event went to the NJ Alzheimers Association. Ilene, the happy winner of the Turo Care basket,has used Turo Care Home Care services for several of her relatives.
