Two years ago, we rose from the ashes. Our moʻokūʻauhau as protectors & healers—forged on Haleakalā in 2017 and standing as kiaʻi on Mauna Kea in 2019—called us immediately to serve our people after the August 2023 fires. With nearly 700 volunteer medics, we became a lifeline, providing psychological first aid & holistic care to over 3,000 survivors in pop-up hubs across West Maui.
Guided by Healing Justice, our work has evolved through three vital phases to meet the community’s changing needs:
1️⃣ Crisis: Street medics & healers in the immediate hubs.
2️⃣ Stabilization: A dedicated wellness center at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel for displaced ʻohana.
3️⃣ Recovery: Our permanent clinic home at the Lahaina Comprehensive Health Center, where we plant seeds for the future.
For over 730 days, we’ve been one of the only wellness initiatives still active daily on the ground. Now, we enter a critical new chapter: Growing the Next Generation of Healers.
We are launching healing, cultural & political education programs to train new community practitioners. We are launching healing, cultural & political education programs to train new community practitioners. To extend care, we’ve set a $10,000 year-end goal to fund our mobile CARE outreach teams, bringing trauma-informed wellness clinics to more vulnerable kaiaulu across Maui.
AS WE CULTIVATE HEALING, WE CULTIVATE HEALERS.
Our strength is our multidimensional, intersectional model. We are all of these things: the outreach teams for our most vulnerable, the permanent clinical hub, and the educators ensuring this knowledge grows. Your support fuels this complete vision of long-term recovery and resilience.
Help us reach our $10,000 goal. Your donation directly expands outreach and launches the training programs that will sustain this work for generations. Click the link in the comments or bio to give and stand with our Maui ʻohana.
With deepest gratitude,
