January Adventures: Rugged Maine Recovery in the Wild 🌲❄️🧘♀️
What a start to 2026! This January, Pure Outdoors has been busy wrapping up a series of incredible winter adventures. From the quiet stillness of snow-covered hiking trails to the adrenaline of skiing—we’ve been out there doing the work.
Recovery is an Adventure. 🧗♂️ At Pure Outdoors, we believe that sobriety is built on resilience, skill, and stillness. Our mission is to take folks out of the clinical setting and into the wilderness to practice real-world skills. Whether it’s navigating a winter trail or finding peace through movement, these are the tools for a life well-lived.
Meet the Powerhouse Team:
🔥 Greg: The Ultimate Maine Guide & Architect of Adventures!
If you want to know what it means to master the Maine woods, you look to Greg. A Veteran, Whitewater Guide, and Registered Maine Guide, Greg is the backbone of our outdoor operations. He coordinates every expedition, manages the logistics, and gathers all the essential equipment—from fly-tying kits to hiking gear—ensuring our participants have everything they need to succeed in the wild. If it happens in the Maine outdoors, Greg is the one making it possible.
🎓 Jill: The Science of Mindfulness
Dr. Jill Satnam brings the clinical and contemplative power to the team. As a Professor of Psychology, Psy.D., and Ph.D. in Yoga, Jill is a dedicated SUD researcher. She integrates yoga and meditation into every outing, ensuring that the physical adventure is balanced with the internal work of mindfulness and stillness. Her specialized curriculum helps residents translate a day on the mountain into long-term craving management.
We Bring the Adventure to You! 🚐 Pure Outdoors partners directly with treatment programs to get residents out into the community. We arrive with an evidence-based SUD curriculum and the best in guiding outdoor programming. We’re here to show that a sober life is the most adventurous life you can lead.
Let’s get outside.
