If you have skin and hair issues, please check if you are in stage of menopause. Ask you P*P to run a blood test. If you are in any of those stages, then find out the diet and exercise regimen suitable for your body ( stick to your ethnic diet).
If you want to fix collagen level, then you need to incorporate bone broth, certain red meat and fish to your diet.
Most Indians do not live on just meat and fish diet as we use a lot of grains, legumes, nuts, and vegetables.
In that case, please add nuts, legumes, and food rich in zinc to allow the absorption of nutrients helpful to build collagen.
Almost all the published researches are funded by the collagen producers, and they are biased.
So, my advice as an Ayurveda Practitioner
1- Get a blood test done and find out your stage and harmonal health.
2- Ayurveda recommends specific herbs and therapies to address the cause of hair loss and skin problems ( based on your dosha)
3- If you must increase collagen ( it is vital for your joints and ligaments), incorporate food that helps build collagen in the body.
According to Ayurveda, I can name 2 ingredients...
Acasia gum and Urad dal.
