Most parents don’t know why their kids are acting out of control, anxious, or regressing in their development. It's so frustrating not knowing what your child is thinking or feeling. So I use the therapeutic power of play with current brain research to achieve short-term, practical solutions to restore stability for the child and peace in the home.

Raising an emotionally healthy child isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating a safe, supportive environment where feelings are welcomed and skills are practiced. 🌿

Here are 5 ways to start:
1️⃣ Validate their feelings
2️⃣ Co-regulate when they’re overwhelmed
3️⃣ Provide outlets for expression
4️⃣ Model healthy coping strategies
5️⃣ Build strong, consistent connections

Reminder: Small, everyday moments matter more than big, perfect ones.
Which of these do you want to focus on more in your parenting this week?

At Kid Matters Counseling, we believe that every child’s brain is beautifully unique.

Children with ADHD are often curious, creative, energetic, and full of big ideas 💡 but they may also face challenges with focus, impulse control, or organization.

With understanding, structure, and support, kids with ADHD can thrive — at home, at school, and in their relationships.

This month, let’s:
• Celebrate neurodiversity
• Replace labels with empathy
• See the strengths behind the struggles

🌟 ADHD doesn’t define your child; it’s just one part of their amazing story.

When big emotions show up, sometimes the most powerful tool is right under our nose - our breath.

These Breathing Card helps kids practice mindful breathing in a fun, visual way. ✨ Just trace the loop with your finger, breathing in and out as you go. It’s a simple, soothing tool for regulation at home, in the classroom, or during therapy.

💚 A gentle reminder: calming doesn’t have to be complicated.
