Esther L. (Robinson) Moorhead was born on September 15, 1931 to Hardy and Iva (Bright) Robinson. She passed away on October 27, 2025 in Geary, OK at the age of 94. She attended Geary Schools. While in high school, she was encouraged by her parents and home economics teacher, to pursue her dream of teaching. She comes from a family of teachers. Father Hardy taught in a one room school for several years. Her paternal grandfather, I.A. “Bob” Robinson taught the first school in Blaine County in a dugout during the fall of 1892. Esther enjoyed her high school days, especially home economics. She served as President of Future Homemakers her senior year. Enrolling at Oklahoma A & M at Stillwater in Home Economics was a dream come true. So many wonderful opportunities and challenges. She graduated May 1953 with a BS degree in Vocational Home Economics. Esther was active in several campus groups like Home Economics Club, serving as President during her senior year. And Wesley Foundation Religious group. Esther began her teaching career in Clinton, OK. While there, she met Doyle Moorhead, also a teacher. They were married in 1955. She taught in several schools and completed her career with 25 years at Berryhill Public Schools in Tulsa. She retired in 1987 with a total of 32 years of teaching. In 1977, she was selected by the faculty as Berryhill Public Schools ‘Teacher of the Year’. It was one of the highest honors of her career. Some of her most treasured memories are of the excellent teachers she had the privilege of working with and watching young people grow to become good and productive members of their communities. She has been blessed by continuing friendships and contact with fellow teachers and students. Esther’s leadership roles in professional organizations over the years included the following: President of the Home Economics Division of the Oklahoma Vocational Association, Treasurer of the Oklahoma Home Economics Association, President of Tulsa Home Economics Club, lifetime member of Oklahoma State University and past President of OSU Home Economics Alumni Association. She had the privilege of organizing the Berryhill Chapter of Young Homemakers of Oklahoma (YHO). She sponsored the Junior class for many years, and organized Jr-Sr Banquets. Although she and Doyle had no children, Esther averaged about 100 each year, including some boys, what a challenging but very rewarding experience.
In 1990, she and Doyle moved back home to Geary, making a 35 year circle. Doyle’s health declined and he passed away in 1996. Esther stayed busy doing lots of volunteer work, especially, the Canadian River Museum. She was a member of the First Christian Church, served on the board, helped with youth, and served on the Geary Library Board and Geary Fair Board. In 1997, she was pleasantly surprised and honored to receive the annual “Citizen of the Year” award presented by the Geary Chamber of Commerce. Esther has the title of “Mother Hen” from many of her classmates. She assumes this is because she appointed herself to stay in touch with classmates by newsletter or clippings, sharing both happy and sad events that touch each of us. She was actively involved in organizing the 15th, 25th, 40th, and 50th Class of ’49 GHS Reunions. She is known by the youth as the Brownie Lady because she makes delicious brownies to share with youth group.

Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Moorhead; her parents, Hardy and Iva Robinson; and her brother, Bobby June Robinson, brothers in law, Dwight Moorhead and Robert Moorhead, and Ivin Trontham, and Carol Bertholow, and sisters in law, Emma Lou Moorhead, Emma Lee Bartholow, and Helen Moorhead.

Michael E. Westbrook was born on November 4, 1961, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Ronald Eugene and Carmen Jean (Kerbo) Westbrook. He passed away on October 23, 2025, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, at the age of 63. Michael grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Douglas High School. He later moved to Binger to be near his grandparents, and it was there that he met the love of his life, Tami Dawn Phelps. The two were married on May 17, 1982, in Binger, Oklahoma, and together they built a beautiful life and family. Mike had a love for the simple joys in life. He enjoyed raising pigeons in the backyard and took great pride in caring for them. He was also an avid c**n hunter and loved spending time in the woods with his brother, Steve. The two even went halves on a hunting dog and shared many adventures together. During those days, CB radios were all the rage—Mike’s handle was “Modena Kid,” while Steve’s was “Scooby-Doo.” Mike’s greatest passion was raising and training horses, especially for roping and team roping. His first horse, and best friend, was Skutter—a special gift he received when he married Tami. He loved wearing his 10-gallon hat and cruising around in his Monte Carlo, often ending the day with a big glass of ice-cold milk, which he had to have before bed. He loved rodeos and passed that passion on to his children. His daughter, Heather, found her love of horses and all animals, and his son, Chisum, carried on the family’s love for horses and farming. Mike was known for his generous spirit and willingness to help anyone in need. He truly would give the shirt off his back to someone going through tough times. Handy and hard-working, he could fix almost anything—plumbing or whatever needed doing. Mike was a devoted caregiver to his parents, wife, and children. Mike loved his grandchildren so very much; they were his pride and joy. He taught them so much about livestock and just “being at the barn”. He loved his family deeply, was a faithful provider, and took great pride in the life they built together.
He is survived by his children, Heather Pafford and husband Jeremy of Binger, Oklahoma; and Chisum Westbrook and wife Megan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, his grandchildren, Tyler, Grayson, Keaton, Slayton, Ryatt, Tuff, and Kutter; his brother, Steve Westbrook and wife Phyllis of Binger, Oklahoma; his aunt, Georgia Wells of Binger, Oklahoma; his cousin, Michelle Austin and husband Sherman of Apache, Oklahoma; along with nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

10/20/2025

Nona Faye Ross Baker was born on the family farm north of Sickles, OK on April 24, 1930, to Alma Freitag Ross and Joseph Leonard “Len” Ross. She attended Prairie Dale School through 4th grade and then went to Sickles school after they ran bus routes. She graduated in the proud class of 12 in 1948. Nona Faye always loved to tell stories about her senior class trip to Washington DC in a school bus! Quite an adventure.
Being an only child was made easier by having cousins. Norma, Lola, and Velma Jean, living on adjoining farms. Also close by were friends, Barbara Lanier Chronister and Cleada Gabehart Sullaway. What a wonderful childhood she had. She was a member of Sickles Community Church. After 3 years of courtship, she married handsome Robert Lyle Baker on September 28, 1948, in Anadarko. They farmed for over 35 years around
Lookeba and Sickles, ending up SW of Hinton. Two daughters were born to this union: Marilyn Diane and Kathy Lynn. Nona Faye enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and playing cards and dominoes with the Sullaways and Sissoms. She worked hard helping Robert with farm life. She loved hosting Baker family events with Robert’s 6 brothers and sisters and their families. She was a long-time member of The Willing Workers Club. The family joined the Hinton Methodist Church in 1964 where she served in many jobs until going to nursing home in 2018. She cherished her friends in U.M.W. for many years. In 1983, Robert and Nona Faye sold their farm and moved to Hinton. Nona Faye worked at the Hinton Legacy Bank for 5 years. The greatest joys of her life were her grand and great grandchildren. She doted on them and royally spoiled each one. Brian, Kristi, Eric, and Sara did no wrong in Grandma’s eyes. She proudly played games, made cookies or shrinky d***s with them and took them fishing. Her bonus from them was 7 great grandkids. Garrett, Kayla, Kyle, Grant, Blake, Tyler, and Wyatt always kept her young in spirit. The last 7 years, Nona Faye has lived at Maple Lawn Nursing Home where she was spoiled by the loyal staff. Special thanks to Janell Hart and Missy Seurer for their devotion to her. Aunt Nona Faye loved dearly her Baker nieces and nephews and always wanted to keep up with their lives. She cherished her dear Ross, Warden, Tucker, and Kluver cousins. She never forgot her sweet loyal church friends. Her ‘bank buddies” of Phyllis Hale, Ruby Power, and Joyce Lilly were her closest friends through the years. Nona Faye’s favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm and her life advice was to “Love and serve Jesus”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Len Ross, her husband Robert Baker, her in laws, Gladys and Joe Baker, her “brothers and sisters”, Helen Ray, Ralph and Claudina Baker, Mildred and Jr Harvey, Jody and Modene Baker, Margaret and Harold Hogan, and Fred and Delaine Baker.
Her survivors are her daughters and sons in law, Marilyn and Jack Roberts of Apache, and Kathy and Gary Metheny of Hinton, her grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Kay Roberts of Elgin, Kristi and Kevin Beets of Bridgecreek, Drs Eric and Heidi Metheny of Edmond, and Sara and Ryan Scott of Edmond; her great grandchildren, Garrett and Alexis Roberts, Kayla and Kyle Beets, Grant, Blake, and Tyler Metheny, and Wyatt Scott, and one great great grandson, Callum Reid Roberts, coming in March, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Roberta Faye (Keechi) Raffety was born on October 5, 1932, in Binger, Oklahoma, to Frank E. and Grace (Pinkston) Keechi. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Binger Nursing Home in Binger, Oklahoma, at the age of 93. Roberta spent her early years in California, where she attended school in Corning and graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville. She later pursued higher education at Chico State Teacher’s College in Chico, California. A woman of many talents and boundless determination, Roberta lived a life filled with hard work, love for the land, and a deep commitment to her family and community. Alongside her sister Hazel, Roberta helped build a log cabin on the family homestead in Greenville, personally gathering rocks for the fireplace. She later helped construct a second cabin there. On February 14, 1964, Roberta married Frank Lloyd Raffety in Carson City, Nevada. Together, they built a life around mining—exploring for gold, silver, and other minerals—and were deeply involved in surveying, engineering reports, and prospecting. Her work ethic extended beyond mining into real estate, farming and ranching, and healthcare, where she served as a nursing assistant in local doctor’s offices. Her intuition and skill made her especially adept at diagnosing patients. A proud member of the Delaware Tribe of Oklahoma, Roberta was actively involved in tribal affairs, serving on the executive committee and participating in housing and tax boards. Her dedication to her heritage and her community was evident in all that she did. In 1978, Roberta returned to Lookeba to care for her parents, spending cherished days fishing, hiking, and enjoying time together. She had a special love for fishing and was especially fond of her Great Danes.

Roberta is survived by her nephews, Greg Graves and his wife Dawn and children Benjamin and Sara of California and Frank Keechi Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska; her nieces Jenny from Lake Tahoe, Nevada and Kathleen from New Jersey; her niece Sonnie Allen and her husband Casey and sons Greysen and Gatlin; her many dear friends and colleagues at the Delaware Nation; and numerous other relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness and spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Grace Keechi; her beloved husband, Frank Raffety; her son, Timothy Raffety; her brother, Leo Frank Keechi; and her sister, Hazel Sue Keechi Graves.

The family would like to thank the staff at Grady Memorial Hospital, Rural Wellness Hospital, Binger Nursing Home and her hospice nurses for the love and support they provided.
