Nobody teaches us how to take care of our body. We just figure it out as we go.

And most of the time, we figure it out the hard way. Something hurts. Something breaks down. Then we start paying attention.

But your kids don’t have to learn it that way.

They’re already learning from you right now. How you sit. How you move. How you respond when something doesn’t feel right. Whether you take care of it or just push through and hope it goes away.

Here’s why this one matters.

Sitting forces your spine into flexion. Rounding forward. Hours of it. Every day. Your spine adapts to that position and forgets how to move the other direction.
Extension is critical for spinal health. This movement restores it.

Here’s how to do it:
Lie face down on the floor. Place your hands under your shoulders. Press your upper body up. Keep your hips on the ground. Let your lower back arch gently.

Hold for 5-10 seconds.

Key points:
Keep your hips down. Relax your lower back muscles. Don’t clench. Breathe deeply. This should feel like a gentle stretch. Not painful. If it hurts, back off.

The routine:
10 reps. 2-3 times per day. Especially after sitting for long periods.

Your body tells on itself. You just gotta know what to look for.

Check your shoes. One heel worn down more than the other?

That’s not random. That’s your body putting more weight on one side every single step you take.

Check your car seat. One side more worn than the other?

You’ve been sitting crooked for years. Probably don’t even notice anymore.

Now think about that ankle that keeps rolling. That knee that flares up every few months. That shoulder you’ve rehabbed three times already.

You rest it. It gets better. You go back to normal. It comes back.
