Mr. Randy Wimberly, 51, of LaGrange, formerly of Macon, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at his home.

Born September 16, 1974 in McRae, Randy was the son of the late Randolph and Betty Joyce Evans Wimberly. He lived most of his life in Macon, was employed by Service Electric Company, and was a former Twiggs County Volunteer Fireman. Randy loved his job, fishing, riding four wheelers, NASCAR, and was an avid Georgia Football fan.

Survivors include his children, Nicole Beesley (Jacob), Randy Wimberly (Shelby), both of LaGrange, Callie Barrett (Jon) of Bowden, and Brianna Wimberly of LaGrange; brothers, Russell Wimberly of Macon, Jack Wimberly and Joey Wimberly, both of LaGrange; 4 grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Mitchell Wimberly.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.

Benjamin Robert “Ben” Spradlin, 28, formerly of Hogansville, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Ben was born February 4, 1997, in LaGrange, lived in the Hogansville area most of his life, and graduated from the Burwell Center in Newnan. He loved large trucks, dump trucks, and heavy equipment, and enjoyed being outdoors, riding a lawnmower, and cutting grass.

Survivors include his father, Joseph O. Spradlin of Douglasville; his mother, Peggy Gable Spradlin of Franklin; his brothers and sisters, Joseph Henry Spradlin (Phoebe) of Atlanta, Nathan Odene Spradlin (Kelley) of Pensacola, FL, Matthew Luke Spradlin (Rachel) of Douglasville, Elexus Louise Rivera (E J) of Franklin, Sierra Grace Spradlin of Douglasville; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jim Harmon and the Reverend Charlie Simmons will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service.

Mary Grace Thompson, 58, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Miss Thompson was born January 3, 1967, in Newnan, and lived in Savannah for 14 years before returning to this area ten years ago. She had been employed as a paralegal and later worked as a dispatcher for Heard County 911. She enjoyed flower gardening and working with arts and crafts.

Survivors include her mother, Mildred Steele; her brother and sister in-law, Timothy and Renea Thompson, all of Hogansville; and nieces and nephews, Derrick Thompson, Kelly Fercile and her husband Josh Fercile, Lily Thompson, and Timothy Thompson.

A memorial service is not being planned at this time.

Rosa Maria Alvarado, 28, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Rosa was born February 22, 1997, in LaGrange and was a 2016 graduate of LaGrange High School. She was a member of The Pentecostal Church of LaGrange, enjoyed music and playing on her phone, and loved being with her PawPaw.

Survivors include her mother, Tina Alvarado; brother, Antonio Alvarado; grandparents, Oscar and Rose Alvarado, all of LaGrange. In addition, she is also survived by her aunt, Angela Alvarado (Chad Scott); uncles, Scotty Alvarado, all of LaGrange, and Jerry Alvarado of Flint, MI; and numerous cousins. Rosa was preceded in death by her uncles, Rocky Alvarado and Bobby Alvarado; and her step-father, Wayne King.

The family will host a memorial service to be conducted at The Pentecostal Church of LaGrange at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026, with the Reverend Phillip Murray officiating.

Mrs. Rebecca Ann Adkins Dickerson Cooke, 76, of LaFayette, AL, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Hospice LaGrange.

“Becky” was born December 16, 1949, in Vienna, Georgia, daughter of the late Leo Turner Adkins and Billie Francis Nichols Adkins. A resident of LaGrange for most of her life, she spent her early years living in South Georgia, later moving to Thomaston, Georgia where she married Thomas Gerald Dickerson in 1967. After his death in 1968, she remained in Thomaston, later marrying Carlton Bruce Cooke. She would spend the next 57 years raising and caring for her four children, followed by seven of her 21 grandchildren, teaching through example what it meant to be selfless, resilient and strong. Her sacrifices shaped generations and her influence will live on through the lives she nurtured and the values she instilled.

All who knew her knew of her extraordinary culinary skills, her gift for gardening, love of horticulture, game shows, soap operas, and Alabama Crimson Tide football.

She leaves behind her daughters, Tonya Caldwell (Billy) of Pell City, AL, Heather Thomas of West Point, Ashlee Facille (Mark) of LaGrange; son Carlton Bruce Cooke, Jr. of Arkansas; step-son, Stacy Cooke of Woodbury; grandchildren, Tommy Caldwell, Matthew Caldwell, Laura Houchins (Matthew), Taylor Lynch (Kayla), Erin Thomas-Steele (Brent), Christopher Thomas, Kolbi Bright (Caleb), Jada Poe (Brandon), Kayli Satterwhite (Alan), Brittany Wilson (Jacob), Marlee Facille, Jaden Cooke (Bailey), Carli Cooke, Kyler Cooke, Katelynn Cooke, Carson Cooke, Sean Cooke, Travis Facille, Chloe Facille, Rebecca Cooke, Savannah Cooke; and 28 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her former husband, Carlton Bruce Cooke; her best friend of 30+ years, Debra Traylor; and extended family members.

Becky will be truly missed and remembered for her fierce love, quiet strength, and the countless ways she put others before herself.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Mr. James Clint Smith, 58, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Mr. Smith was born November 5, 1967, in Newnan, son of the late John Cliff Smith, Sr. and Casernell Thompson Smith. A resident of the West Georgia area for many years, he spent most of his life working in auto body repair and had owned and operated Clint Smith Collision in Hogansville for twelve years. He also loved to play golf. Clint is remembered as a kind and generous man who placed family and friends above all else.

Survivors include his daughter, Madison Smith and her husband Christopher Holmes of Columbus; son, Andrew Larson and his wife Taylor Moore of West Des Moines, IA; granddaughter, Maddox Holmes of Columbus; sister, Veronica Rogers and her husband Thomas Rogers of Hogansville; and brothers, Cliff Smith, Jr. of Franklin and Joseph Smith and his wife Janiene Smith of Hogansville.

The family is honoring Mr. Smith’s wishes that there be no funeral service conducted.

Mrs. Barbara Washbish Miller, 78, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the home of her son.

Mrs. Miller was born February 21, 1947, in Miami, Florida, daughter of the late Robert McDonald Washbish and Jeanette Alice Collis Washbish. A retired registered nurse, she was employed for many years at Hollywood Memorial Health System in Hollywood, Florida and at Hospice of Dade County in Miami. She earned an associate degree in nursing at Broward Community College and a BSN and MBA from Nova University. Mrs. Miller was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville, enjoyed crocheting and gardening, and especially loved to read, reading several books each week.

Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Tim and Tonya Miller of Hogansville; grandchildren, Katie Vega-Miller (Alejandro Vega), Zack Miller, Courtney Hodges (Patrick Hodges), Jennifer Johnson (R B Johnson) Lewis Marreo (Ariana); and great-grandchildren, Rylee Grace Johnson, Luke Michael Johnson, Mac Lane Vega, and Lina Marie Marreo.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2025, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Jan S. Tolbert officiating.

The family will greet friends at the church before and after the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Post Office Box 176, Hogansville, GA 30230.

Brian William Farmer, 49, of LaGrange, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Farmer was born March 12, 1976, in LaGrange and was a lifelong resident of LaGrange. He was a former employee of General Fibers and Fabrics and had also worked as a brick mason. He was Baptist by faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Stephanie Redden; his mother, Carolyn Farmer; brothers, Ronnie Farmer, Jr. and Daniel Lee Pitts, all of LaGrange, Tim Farmer of Valley, AL; sister, Crystal Demayuga of Newnan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Wilburn Farmer, Sr.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Mr. Roy A. Thompson, 84, of Roanoke, AL and formerly of Hogansville and LaGrange, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Traylor Nursing Facility in Roanoke.

Mr. Thompson was born November 20, 1941, in Carrollton, son of the late Loomis Guy Thompson and Jessie Ruth Wright Thompson. A resident of Troup County most of his life, he was employed for many years as a firefighter for Troup County Fire Department, as an EMT for Troup County EMS, and later retired as a truck driver for Rental Service Company. After his retirement, he served as a bus driver for the Troup County School System and as a valued employee of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Mr. Thompson enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and especially loved meeting and speaking to everyone.

Survivors include his daughters and sons in-law, Vicki and Randy Holliday of Roanoke, AL, Vanessa and Gary Railey of Greer, SC, Venita and Todd Wulffson of Eagle, ID; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a niece, Michelle Snyder Smith of LaGrange. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ida Mae Snyder; and his wives, Marie Denney Thompson Nolen, Mary Nell Arrington Thompson; and Colleen Clark Thompson.

A private family interment service will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.

Mrs. Dianne Ivey Wood, 61, of Newnan, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025, at her home.

Mrs. Wood was born May 4, 1964, in Newnan, daughter of the late Walter Marshall Ivey and Lois Arlene Alcott Ivey. A resident of Grantville and Newnan most of her life, she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and served as a Boy Scout volunteer for many years. She earned an associate degree from the University of West Georgia and was a longtime employee of the Coweta County African American Museum. Mrs. Wood loved studying genealogy and was an avid supporter of the military and veterans of military service.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Wood; son, Andrew Christopher Wood and his wife Miranda; grandchildren, Michael Jerry Wood, Haley Grace Wood, and Lucas Andrew Wood, all of Newnan; bonus grandchildren, Lillie Tyree and Issac Taft of Hogansville, Addy Marshall of Sharpsburg; sister, Marsha Carol Veal and her husband Ricky Veal of LaGrange; her mother in-law, Delphine Walters and sister in-law, Darlene Johnson, both of Sanford, NC; brother in-law, John Wood and his wife Anita Wood of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David Allen Ivey and Lester Dale Ivey.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, at New Hope Baptist Church in Newnan, with Pastor Jason Settle officiating. Interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Mr. Stanley Arrington, 75 of Grantville, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at his home.

Born November 27, 1950 in Heard County, Mr. Arrington was the son of the late Bill and Kate Shelnutt Arrington. He was a lifelong resident of Grantville and had worked for Danny Green Trucking for over 20 years. Mr. Arrington loved hunting, gardening, and loved his dog, BooBoo.

Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Donna and Allen Fields of Newnan; son, Jeffrey Arrington of Grantville; brother and sister in-law, Wade and Teresa Arrington of Moreland; grandchildren, Brett Fields, Christy Roddy, Chance Stapleton, Emily Stapleton, and Brandon Stapleton; great-grandchildren, Jacob Fields and Shelby Roddy; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Arrington was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Meadows Arrington; brothers, Ricky Arrington and Wayne Arrington; and a sister, Peggy Harris.

Margaret Inez Gresham

MARGARET INEZ GRESHAM

Margaret Inez Gresham, devoted wife and loving mother, age 83, of Manchester, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 19,1942 to James and Hazel Williams.

Margaret was a shining light to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved gardening, collecting turtle and frog figurines, working on puzzles, and watching cowboy movies. A faithful Christian woman, she loved God and her church deeply and was a dedicated Sunday School teacher cherished by many.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Gresham; one son, Gene Gresham and his wife Ann of Australia; and two grandsons, Jonathan Gresham and Jeremy Gresham of Columbus, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hazel Willams; and one brother David Williams.

She is reunited in Heaven with her daughter, Karen Gresham, and will be greatly missed.

No services are planned at this time.
