Clara Barton Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital, located in Hoisington. Our RHCs provide primary care to over two-thousand patients each month.

Clara Barton Medical Center is a 23-bed critical access hospital, located in Hoisington, serving Barton County, KS. All 23 beds are Medicare certified acute care beds and are certified for participation as swing beds. Clara Barton Medical Center also manages Clara Barton Medical Clinic , Clara Barton Medical Clinic - Great Bend, and Russell Family Medical Care, which are designated Rural Health Clinics. Clara Barton Medical Center also manages Clara Barton Surgical Services. Clara Barton Medical Center and its affiliates are dedicated to meeting the health care needs and improving the quality of life for the community we serve. We continually pursue clinical excellence in an atmosphere of caring and compassion. We are deeply committed to serving all in need within our resources.

Because of the incredible support from our staff, patients, and community, our Pie-in-the-Face fundraiser raised $1,008 for the Hoisington Food Bank! We are truly grateful to everyone who contributed and helped make this donation possible.

To show their appreciation, our CEO, COO, and CFO stepped in behind the serving line so our hardworking kitchen crew could sit down, relax, and enjoy the feast they prepared. 🙌🏻

Students from Hoisington Middle School stopped by Clara Barton Medical Center earlier this week to say thank you for sponsoring student admission to the last two Cardinal football playoff games. We’re proud to support our community and the next generation of Cardinals!

We’re excited for another big matchup tonight as Hoisington travels to Southeast of Saline to take on the Trojans. Best of luck to the Cardinals—go get that win! ❤️🏈🖤

🌼 We are excited to announce that Kim Landers, LPN has been selected as the 2025 DAISY Award Winner for our Rural Health Clinics! 🌼

The DAISY Award is a prestigious global program established to honor extraordinary nurses who provide exceptional care. CBMC introduced this program in January 2024 to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of our nurses. Each year, both a Hospital Nurse and a Clinic Nurse will be selected as DAISY Award winners from the numerous nominations that the board receives.

Kim’s nomination specifically notes the amount of time she spends with her patients listening and getting to know them. However, anyone who knows Kim can attest to this.

“My child has struggled with mental health for many years. Kim made sure he was as comfortable as she could make him. She sat with him and tried to calm him. Kim has always been a huge part of each of my children’s doctors appointments. Each of them asks for her by name when we have an appointment. Thank you, Kim for all you do.”

CBMC RECOGNIZED FOR PERFORMANCE LEADERSHIP BY THE CHARTIS CENTER FOR RURAL HEALTH

As part of National Rural Health Day, Clara Barton Medical Center announced it has earned a 2025 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Patient Perspective. Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards honor top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes, and/or Patient Perspective.

The Performance Leadership Awards program is based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, a comprehensive and objective framework for assessing how rural hospitals are performing. INDEX benchmarks are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure performance across multiple areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

Clara Barton Medical Center was one of only 28 Kansas hospitals to receive this award.

CBMC is a distinguished 25-bed critical access hospital and Level 4 trauma center in Hoisington, Kansas, providing comprehensive and compassionate care to the central Kansas region. Their network includes three rural health clinics in Hoisington, Great Bend, and Russell, along with a cutting-edge surgical clinic in Hoisington.
