Clara Barton Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital, located in Hoisington. Our RHCs provide primary care to over two-thousand patients each month.

Clara Barton Medical Center is a 23-bed critical access hospital, located in Hoisington, serving Barton County, KS. All 23 beds are Medicare certified acute care beds and are certified for participation as swing beds. Clara Barton Medical Center also manages Clara Barton Medical Clinic , Clara Barton Medical Clinic - Great Bend, and Russell Family Medical Care, which are designated Rural Health Clinics. Clara Barton Medical Center also manages Clara Barton Surgical Services. Clara Barton Medical Center and its affiliates are dedicated to meeting the health care needs and improving the quality of life for the community we serve. We continually pursue clinical excellence in an atmosphere of caring and compassion. We are deeply committed to serving all in need within our resources.

Visitor Entrance Update:

At Clara Barton Medical Center, the safety of our patients, visitors, and staff is always a top priority. As part of our ongoing commitment to security, we will be making a small change to building access.

Beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the side entrances—including the west ramp entrance and the east dock entrance—will be locked to the public.

👉 If you are visiting Clara’s Corner Café, please enter the hospital through the main/front entrance, which will remain open and welcoming to all guests.

We understand that many community members have routinely used the side entrances to access Clara’s Corner Café, and we appreciate your understanding as we make this change to enhance security throughout our facility.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep Clara Barton Medical Center a safe place for everyone. If you have questions or need help finding Clara’s Corner, our front desk staff will be happy to assist you.

✨ Exciting News for Our Community! ✨

We are excited to announce that Dr. Clayton Jackson and Dr. Lexi Jackson will be joining our medical team in the fall of 2027!

This husband-and-wife physician team is currently completing their residencies in Fort Worth, Texas, and will be returning to the Central Kansas area to begin their practice in fall 2027.

Clayton and Lexi share a deep commitment to rural healthcare and to caring for our community. Dr. Clayton Jackson is completing his Family Medicine residency along with a Maternal Child Health fellowship, preparing him to offer full-spectrum family medicine, including obstetric care. Dr. Lexi Jackson, a Hoisington native, is finishing her OB/GYN residency and is dedicated to supporting women’s health at every stage of life. Her clinical interests include obstetrics, minimally invasive surgery, menopause care, and comprehensive women’s health services.

We look forward to welcoming Drs. Clayton and Lexi Jackson to our medical team and are excited for the care and dedication they will bring to our patients and our community. 💙🌾
