Bernard “Barney” John Zimmer age 97, of Napoleon, died Tuesday evening, October 14, 2025 at Vancrest of Holgate. Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home of Holgate from 3-6:00 pm on Friday, October 17 with another hour of visitation prior to the church service. The Celebration of Barney’s life will be at 10:00 am in on Saturday, October 18 at St. John's United Church of Christ Holgate.

Emerson Robert Brinkman's life was defined by hard work, unwavering patience, and a quiet but profound faith. A fourth-generation farmer, he embraced his calling with humility and purpose, establishing a legacy that deeply influenced his family and community for generations.

Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home of Holgate on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 2:00–7:00 p.m. You will be welcomed into the Holgate Community Church on Monday, September 29, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the celebration of Emerson’s life at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Pleasant Township Cemetery, Road Y, New Bavaria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideon’s International, Henry County Ag Improvement, or the Henry County Ag Foundation.

Friends will be received at Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 1-4:00 pm with the celebration of Sharon’s life at 4:00 pm.

Rosa Marie Hopkins, a gentle soul who touched the lives of many, passed away on August 12, 2025, at her home in Malinta, surrounded by her loving family. As we celebrate the life of Rosa Marie Hopkins, we are reminded of the invaluable impact she had on her family and all who knew her. She had a gift for uplifting those around her, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth. Her Visitation will be held at Zachrich Family Funeral Home of Holgate, on August 18, 2025, from 3 PM to 7 PM and again on August 19, 2025, from 10 AM to 11 AM, followed by a Celebration of her long Life at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Hoy Cemetery, Napoleon.

Agnes E. Dulle, age 76, a beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully in her Holgate home on August 7, 2025, after a long and courageous struggle with Parkinson's disease. A visitation will be held at Zachrich Family Funeral Home in Holgate from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on August 11, 2025, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance of this remarkable woman. Visitation will continue at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Bavaria on Tuesday at 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 10:30 AM on August 12, 2025, to celebrate Agnes's life and her profound impact on those who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, Holgate on Thursday, August 7 from 2-7:00 pm and one hour prior to the church service. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 8 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Holgate.

The memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria on July 29, 2025 at 10:30 am with luncheon following.

Chad W. Giesige, 50, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the Cleveland VA Medical Center’s Hospice Unit surrounded by his family. Family and friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Thursday, 6/19/2025 from 2-8pm with the rosary being said at 1:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday at 10:30am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria.

Nancy Jean (Baker) Gerken, age 74, of Holgate, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 8, 2025, as the result of an automobile accident. Friends and family will be received at the Zachrich Family Funeral Home of Holgate on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 2:00-5:00 PM and again from 6:00-8:00 PM. Visitation will also be held one hour before the service at the church. A celebration of Nancy’s life will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 13, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church in Holgate, with Rev. Jacob Stuenkel officiating. A private internment at St. Paul, Flatrock Twp., will take place at a later date.

Dyle Jason Roth age 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 17, 2025. Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home of Holgate on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 1-4:00 and 5-8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Defiance from 9-11:00 am. The Celebration of Dyle’s Life will start at 11:00 am with Reverend Dave Brobston officiating. Burial will follow in Ayersville Cemetery with military honors.

Michael "Mick" Okuley age 79, of New Bavaria, passed away Wednesday morning, May 7, 2025 at the Defiance In Patient Hospice Center after a short illness. Visitation will be in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home of Holgate on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 3-7 PM and again at the church from 9:30 until the service. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria with Father Nick Cunningham and Father Tony Fortman (nephew) officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
