One of the most common nail problems are infections caused by bacteria, fungi, or viruses. These often happen after manicure or pedicure procedures that are not done with proper hygiene or technique.

Another frequent issue is nail damage and nail lifting, when the nail separates from the nail bed. This can change the nail’s appearance over time and make it weaker.

Many of these problems are related to the use of acrylic nails and strong chemical products, which can damage the natural nail if used repeatedly.

Before-and-after stories are perhaps the most beautiful and easiest to appreciate, but behind these images there is a patient truly committed to her skin and its care—faithfully following the recommended skincare routine and attending her microdermabrasion appointments without fail.

As this year comes to an end, I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in us throughout 2025, the year that also marked the beginning of the Pure Skin project at the talented office of Dr. Laurie Birkholz & Associates. This journey has been led with a great love and knowledge on my part.
