Let's talk about glimmers! The term glimmers comes from Deb Dana, a therapist who describes them as the micro-moments that bring us back into a sense of safety, joy, or connection. They're like the opposite of triggers-small sparks that remind your nervous system it's okay to soften and breathe. What's powerful about glimmers is how ordinary they are: sunlight on your skin, a song that lifts your mood, the smell of fresh coffee, the sound of laughter. Noticing them is a gentle practice in training your brain and body to feel safe, grounded, and present. 💛💖

We were honored to be a part of the Out of the Darkness Walk in Toledo today! Held at Promenade Park, this powerful event brought our community together to raise awareness for su***de prevention, honor loved ones lost, and offer hope to those still struggling. Our amazing therapist Kristi Kennedy was there to provide a safe and supportive space for those in need! We're grateful to every who walked, shared their stories, and helped shine the light into the darkness. Together, we can make a difference! 🫶🥰

Small acts of kindness aren't small at all. When you show up for someone, you're not just lifting their spirit-you're literally rewiring both of your brains. Kindness triggers powerful changes in the mind and body, flooding them with energy that heals, strengthens, and restores. Every moment of compassion has a ripple effect that lingers long after the act itself. In a world that feels heavy and chaotic...choose kindness! 💛🫶

The truth is so much of what we are living through right now is beyond overwhelming! The pace, the pain, the constant flood of heavy headlines-it's more than any one person was built to hold. If you're finding yourself shutting down, feeling on edge, or struggling to stay present, you're not alone. This isn't a person failing-it's a very human response to an inhuman amount of heaviness. Be gentle with yourself. Protect your peace where you can. You don't have to carry it all. 🥰

When life feels unbearably heavy, your body and nervous system do what they know best: protect you. Numbness, tears, isolation, hopelessness, lack of motivation-these aren't signs of weakness. They're survival strategies your system has learned to cope with overwhelm. It doesn't mean you're broken. It means your human. 🫶When the world feels hopeless, start with gentle reminders: your body is doing its best to keep you safe, and there are ways to slowly bring in support, connection, and regulation. One small step at a time. 💛

In times like this, it's easy to get swept up in fear, outrage, or pressure to think and act a certain way. But this is when it matters most to come back to what's true for you❣
~Hold tight to your values.
~Lead with compassion, even when it's hard.
~Choose empathy over assumption.
~Stay curious about yourself and others.
~Rest when your body says rest.
~Speak up when your heart says speak.
Your steadiness won't fix everything-but it will keep you grounded, connected, and clear in a world that feels anything but.

Setting boundaries is one of the toughest skills to learn, particularly for people who struggle with people-pleasing. Our nervous system's have literally been shaped and hardwired by the need to protect ourselves from conflict or people being angry or disappointed with us at all costs. It was a protective mechanism that likely came from your own childhood, whether from abuse/neglect or getting praised whenever you would comply or be "the easy child." But now, you probably find that these patterns get in your way, and understandably so. It's hard to stand up for yourself the way you want to or even maintain a strong sense of self when you constantly prioritize everyone's needs but your own.

When your mind starts racing and everything feels too much, it can be hard to remember that you're not alone-and that you're not broken. Anxiety often shows up with a swirl of thoughts, a tight chest, and a sense of urgency. But that doesn't mean you have to obey it. You can pause. You can breathe. You can come back to yourself, one gentle moment at a time.
You're human. You're doing your best. And that's more than enough❣
