The real culprits behind the sniffles and sneezes are viruses, like the rhinovirus, which spread more easily when we spend more time indoors together during the colder months.

When winter hits, people tend to gather inside, close the windows, and share tight spaces—giving those pesky viruses the perfect opportunity to jump from person to person. That’s why you might notice more colds happening in winter, but the chilly air itself isn’t to blame.

So, don’t let old myths stop you from enjoying the fresh, crisp air! Bundle up, make snow angels, or take that brisk winter walk—just remember to practice good hygiene.
