November is Pet Diabetes Month 🐶🐱🩺
November is a crucial time for health awareness. While many focus on American Diabetes Month®, it’s also Pet Diabetes Month! Knowing the signs of this condition is the first step toward successful management.
Diabetes is a serious condition, but with proper care, your cat or dog can continue to live a long, comfortable, and happy life.
Be On The Lookout For Symptoms

• Accidents around the house (urinating in inappropriate locations)
• Weight loss despite increased hunger
• Increased cloudiness of the eye lens due to cataracts
• Weakness and lethargy
• Skin conditions, such as dandruff or an oily hair coat
• Recurring infections
While a diabetes diagnosis can be scary, remember that your pet can absolutely live a long, comfortable, and normal life! With hypervigilance regarding their diet, exercise, and potential insulin needs, their quality of life can be no different than that of a non-diabetic pet.
