🌿 April is Prevent Lyme Disease in Dogs Month! 🐾

Spring is here—and so are deer ticks. These tiny pests can carry the bacteria that cause Lyme disease in dogs. While Lyme disease can lead to serious health problems, the good news is it’s preventable!

This month, we’re helping dog owners learn how to protect their furry friends. Simple steps like using tick preventatives, checking your dog after outdoor adventures, and talking with your veterinarian about vaccines can make a big difference.

🐶 Take action this April—prevent Lyme disease and keep your dog healthy!
Call us or schedule a checkup to learn the best ways to protect your pup.

Happy National Puppy Day! 🐶💛

Today we’re celebrating the joy that puppies bring into our lives.

It’s also a great reminder that starting them off with routine vet care, proper nutrition, and monthly preventatives helps set the foundation for a long, healthy life.

🐾 Friendly Reminder from Buck Road Animal Hospital 🐾

We have been seeing an increase in Scabies mite (mange) infections recently in dogs in the Bucks County area.

Scabies mites come from any other infected animal, most commonly fox. Scabies is also a zoonotic disease that people can get from their dogs.

The good news- this is preventable! Keeping your dog on a monthly CHEWABLE preventative is the best way to protect them from fleas, ticks and mites.

If you have any questions about prevention we're always happy to help!

🐾 A Happy Reunion Thanks to a Microchip! 🐾

We love sharing good news at Buck Rd Animal Hospital, and this one truly made our day.

A kind-hearted client had been feeding a stray cat that had been visiting their home. Wanting to make sure the kitty was healthy, they brought him in to see us for a check-up. During the visit, we scanned the cat for a microchip — and we’re so glad we did!

The cat was microchipped, and we were able to locate his owner who lives miles away. He had been missing for seven months, and his family had no idea where he had gone.

Because of that tiny microchip, we were able to reunite this sweet cat with his very relieved and grateful owner. ❤️

This is a perfect reminder of how important microchipping is. Collars and tags can fall off, but a microchip is a permanent form of identification that can help bring lost pets back home where they belong.

If your pet isn’t microchipped yet, we would be happy to help. It’s quick, safe, and can make all the difference in a situation like this.

One tiny chip… one huge happy ending. 🐱
