For Gary and Linda Speet, Holland Hospital isn't just where they received care, it's been part of their lives for decades.

Wanting to honor Gary's brother, Larry, and support the team who cared for Linda during her wound‑care treatment, they donated a new chair for Holland Hospital’s Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine now known affectionately as Larry’s chair. “When we saw the chair with his plaque, it brought me a lot of happiness,” Gary said. “We just wanted to do something for the people who took such good care of us.”

We are thankful for our blood donors, who have saved more than 500 lives with their generous donations! In 2025, local donors provided over 400 pints of blood.

Nicolas Decker, Director of Laboratory Services at Holland Hospital stated, "Cancer patients tend to use up a lot of blood products. Burn victims, cardiac surgery recovery, and some lifelong genetic disorders. Those are things that I think sometimes get overlooked and they're vital.”

January is National Blood Donor Month! We wanted to celebrate the local heroes who saved over 500 lives in 2025.

This past year, Holland Hospital partnered with Versiti to collect 219 pints of blood, equaling about 531 local lives saved. We also partnered with Red Cross to host six blood drives, resulting in 204 successful donations.
