EnduraFit Training and Rehab

EnduraFit Training and Rehab strength training, post-rehab strength programs, cancer exercise, physical therapy consulting and manual therapy including dry needling

EnduraFit Training and Rehab offers one-on-one fitness, nutrition, yoga and physical therapy services either in-person at our facility in Hollis or virtually online. At EnduraFit, our philosophy is really quite simple. Treat the body as an entire system instead of individual parts and use different methods to help each client and patient reach their goals. By using this approach, we are able to incorporate personal training, physical therapy, yoga and nutrition coaching for whole body wellness in a one-on-one setting. We emphasize the importance of teaching clients and patients how to move properly for strength, mobility, stability, balance and injury prevention in each program in a fun and inviting setting

WELLNESS WEDNESDAY

Let’s face it. It’s been a wild couple of weeks for all of us (holidays, family visits, kids out of school, schedules disrupted, pressure to establish your “new you” in the new year, etc) and we’re just trying to get back into the swing of things. You, too?

Some days this is all you need. Some days this is all you can handle.

Here’s to making sure you get what you need and doing what you can. Keep it simple. The new year doesn’t have to mean you reinvent yourself. Sometimes, you need to reconnect with the basic needs - water, quality food, movement, rest, and a little bit of positivity.

Go be your fabulous you today! 💚

As we wrap up 2025, we just want to say thank you.

This year at EnduraFit Training and Rehab was about showing up - consistently, imperfectly, and with purpose. We saw you walk in on hard days, push through milestones, rebuild after setbacks, and celebrate wins both big and small.

In 2025, our space was filled with:
• Strength rebuilt after injury
• Confidence gained through movement
• Goals redefined and achieved
• A community that supports, encourages, and cheers each other on

We’re incredibly grateful to our clients who trusted us with their rehab, their training, and their health. Your dedication is what makes EnduraFit more than a gym - it’s a place where progress happens and people are supported every step of the way.

Thank you for choosing us, for believing in the process, and for being part of our EnduraFit community. We’re excited to keep moving forward together in 2026.

RESOLUTIONS vs TRANSFORMATIONS

🎉 It’s that time of year.

People make RESOLUTIONS, set goals for themselves. But we’re all so focused on the end result more than making changes to our journeys to meet such goals. It’s focusing on the journey that will allow us to make permanent changes to our lives.

So… set a TRANSFORMATION for 2026. Have a goal for yourself, but let’s place the focus on the daily, achievable habit we can add/change to our lives.

Want to chat about how we can help?

Drop us an email 📧, give us a call 📞. We’d love to see how we can help you in 2026 set and meet your transformation goals!

THERAPY THURSDAY

Dysfunctional movement because of pain? OR pain because of dysfunctional movement?
This is a tough question. A little like, “Which came first? The chicken or the egg?” We often have so many layers of compensations from previous injuries it’s tough to tell.

At EnduraFit, we use the Functional Movement Screen, a tool developed by a physical therapist and used widely for injury prevention screening of athletes to screen many of our clients. It gives us valuable information as to whether or not pain and compensation is triggering poor movement patterns which may lead to further injury OR if it’s muscular and movement imbalances causing pain in specific areas of the body.

Are you experiencing pain or a feeling of imbalance? Contact us for a screening. Let’s figure out how to get you your best health and wellness! 💪🏻

❔So, why does EnduraFit offer yoga? What’s the connection to fitness?

❕This. This right here, along with MANY different poses. This “chair pose” is a functional squat. (The position we should all be using when bending to reach the bottom cabinet in your kitchen, doing those epic weeding of the garden marathons, shoveling snow… Ok, just minus the arms overhead of course!) We are all about the functionality of movement at EnduraFit and focus on proper form and technique of such.

The crossover between physical therapy, strength training, and yoga is incredible. There’s an element and importance to three aspects all these disciplines focus on: strength, flexibility, and form. At EnduraFit, you can find the discipline (or combination) that works for you.

And you don’t have to be a yoga master to perform poses like these. Our classes welcome all abilities. Always. With an instructor who is happy to teach proper form and technique.

THERAPY THURSDAY

What? You threw your back out? And it was just from reaching into that bin of holiday decorations? 🎄🕎

Don’t worry. It happens to all of us. Add the holidays, the stress of work or kids’ theme weeks at school to the mix of your to-do list, and the simplest task of bending or reaching can be enough to shift your pelvis alignment or cause a muscle spasm.

It’s often an acute injury, one that will resolve after a couple of days of self care and slowing things down. Here are a couple of tips to help you do that:

🔹 Reach for the ice pack!
🔹 Grab your favorite pile of pillows, an ottoman, a chair, whatever you can find to get yourself into the position shown. This is a RESCUE position. It places your spine into a position of rest and support. You can stay in this position for 30 minute intervals throughout your day.
🔹 If you have one, you can also place a home TENS unit on your back. (What the heck is that? Well, A TENS machine is a small, battery-operated device that has leads connected to sticky pads called electrodes. You attach the pads directly to your skin. When the machine is switched on, small electrical impulses are delivered to the affected area of your body which you feel as a tingling sensation.) But be sure to check with your medical professional to make sure you don’t have any condition that would be a contraindication for its use.
🔹 Be sure to walk around slowly and gently as much as you can. Movement is still the best medicine. Just don’t go crazy until you feel 100% with normal daily tasks.
🔹 NSAIDs (like ibuprofen or naproxen) can also be helpful if your body tolerates them. (Be sure to check your appropriate dosage with your physician.)

If this still isn’t cutting it after a couple of days, it is worth contacting your physician or local physical therapist for some help. A PT can take a look at your alignment/muscular system to help you identify the possible source of the pain and establish a plan to help you get back to enjoying all the holiday festivities.

You live local to us? Great! Give us a call, drop us a message. We will get you back on your feet!

WELLNESS WEDNESDAY:
The many benefits of hydration

❔Do you drink enough water?

This is a question we ask our clients on a regular basis. Studies show that in order to maintain hydration, we should be drinking roughly half of our body weight in ounces. Yes, you read that right!! Half of your body weight in ounces!!

💧Now, you’re probably thinking… “If I drink that much, I’m going to be peeing all day long!”
Yes, at first you will be in the bathroom quite a bit. However, as your body adjusts, it will get better.

💦As you increase your water intake, you may notice some of its benefits, such as:
Improved mood, better recovery, improved sleep, feeling fuller, better skin, decreased tightness, etc..

🍋🥒🍊If you’re just not a fan of H2O, try adding some flavor like lemon slices, cucumber, mint, orange slices or even all natural seltzer water (no artificial flavors).

❕Shout it out! How much water do you get in every day?

THERAPY THURSDAY

As the temperature drops fast here in New England…
Yes, wear the scarf!

🧣Tension headaches. Neck tightness. Shoulder soreness. These issues seem to all come along with colder weather. What’s the difference from summer? Our neck is often exposed to the colder air, we shrug our shoulders, we end up with tightness and tension. It’s a natural instinct to shrug to keep our neck warm.

🧣In addition to practicing good posture by gently squeezing your shoulder blades together when sitting or standing up tall, wearing scarves or high collars when out in the cold (or even your ice box of an office in some cases) can make the world of difference.

🧣Doing your best and still not able to get rid of that nagging neck pain? Contact us. You may be the perfect candidate for some manual therapy and an individualized strengthening program.
