One of the difficulties for first responders is the temptation to commit infidelity in marriage. Usually the temptation starts before the marriage is official with indicators which are often ignored or minimized.

For most, we are typically not taught HOW to lean into these conversations in premarital counseling and work through any possible barriers which could create harm in our marriage. In addition, many of us were not given the tools needed to protect our relationship. Our naiveness leads us astray and the divorce rate is high because of it.

A major problem with unresolved sexual brokenness is it doesn't actually go away once a ring is on your finger. As life becomes more stressful the acting-out increases - and the shame does too.

What does acting-out in your marriage actually look like? Here are some of these risky behaviors that will kill your marriage if not stopped:

💥Emotional Affairs (flirting, sexting, or intimate type conversations that are not business oriented with someone other than your spouse)
💥Pornography (all forms)
💥Explicit Books and Movies (pornographic in nature)
💥Physical Affairs
💥Massage Parlors (inappropriate touching)
💥Calling Services / One Night Stand
💥Strip Clubs

Sexual brokenness is a reality for everyone. We all have a timeline of exposure and/or painful choices with consequences. At some point, you have to take responsibility for your exit ramps and get help.

Remember, there is opportunity for healing if/when one chooses it. There is always hope!
