Allergy Season and the foods to avoid.
Spring brings pollen and with it, allergies. There are foods to avoid to help bring histamine levels down, and foods you can replace to help you through the season.
FOODS TO AVOID:
Aged cheeses, cured meats
Fermented foods (kimchi, sauerkraut, kombucha)
Alcohol (especially wine + beer)
Vinegar-heavy foods
Tomatoes, spinach, eggplant
Avocado, citrus (can trigger release)
Leftovers (histamine rises as food sits)
FOODS YOU CAN EAT INSTEAD:
Freshly cooked meats (not processed)
Gluten-free grains (rice, quinoa)
Most fresh vegetables (except a few above)
Low-histamine fruits (berries, apples, pears)
Fresh herbs instead of vinegar-based dressings
👉 Practical rule: Cook fresh, eat fresh, freeze leftovers immediately.
There are also great supplements, vitamins, homeopathic remedies and Chinese herbal formulas, along with acupuncture that can help you.
