National Cancer Prevention Month is an important reminder that early detection saves lives. Through our Cancer Education and Early Detection (CEED) program, we provide free or low-cost screenings for breast, cervical, colorectal, and prostate cancer, along with education and care navigation for eligible residents in Monmouth and Ocean counties. If you or someone you know may qualify, our team is here to help connect you with the care and support you need.

Commissioner Dr. Raynard Washington of the New Jersey Department of Health recently visited Visiting Nurse Association Health Group's Prevention Resource Network (PRN) to meet with the team and learn more about their work in the community.

Through PRN, the Harm Reduction Center provides prevention, education, and supportive services at its fixed site, through mobile outreach, and via a 24/7 vending machine, helping individuals access care and reduce risk.

We thank the Commissioner for taking the time to tour the program and for the ongoing partnership supporting harm reduction efforts across New Jersey.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re thinking about the families and children we have the privilege of supporting every day.

At CFHI, care goes beyond appointments and programs. It’s built on trust, compassion, and showing up for those we serve when it matters most.

We’re grateful to be part of your journey and thankful for the opportunity to serve our community with heart.

During Black History Month, we honor the strength and contributions of Black leaders and families, and we also recognize the urgent work that remains.

Black women in the U.S. are nearly three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women. In our latest blog, Sahai Cole, Vice President of CFHI, shares why listening to families, strengthening postpartum care, and investing in community-based support are critical to improving outcomes.

“When care is responsive and continuous, outcomes can improve,” she shares.

Today, CFHI managers held their monthly meeting at Fulfill and volunteered to support their work addressing food insecurity in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. As a longtime community partner and collaborator through our WIC program, Fulfill plays an important role in connecting families to healthy food and resources. Our team was proud to lend a hand and support this work.

On Maternal Health Awareness Day, we honor the reality of pregnancy and early parenthood, a time that can bring excitement, uncertainty, and everything in between. Every family deserves support that meets them where they are.

Through WIC, Nurse-Family Partnership, and NJ InCK, families receive nutrition guidance, one-on-one nurse support, and coordinated care during pregnancy and the early years of a child’s life.
