Holmdel First Aid Squad

Holmdel First Aid Squad Holmdel First Aid Squad is an all volunteer organization answering all 9-1-1 medical emergencies 24/7 Our squad is always looking for new members.

We are an all-volunteer team of EMTs, Drivers, and high school aged Cadets who have the desire to help the residents of Holmdel in their time of need. Our organization was founded in 1969 with the belief that volunteers do a better, more compassionate job of caring for the sick or injured. The trained members of Holmdel First Aid respond to all kinds of calls for help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. We take pride in our ability to save lives and comfort those who need treatment and transport to an area hospital. Our all-volunteer force never bills for our services or charge for our transports. We rely on the generous donations from our businesses and residents to operate. Our squad is as diverse as the residents who inhabit our township. With members from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds and age groups, we forge a strong bond to commit only the best emergency medical care. Our squad responded to over 1,600 calls for help last year. Many times we are responding to more than one emergency at a time. If you can commit to the time and have the desire to help, we will make sure you are trained to handle all types of emergencies. We invite you to tour our facilities & ambulances, meet our members, and join our squad family.

On Saturday, several of our volunteers and Cadets provided stand by emergency medical services for the NJSIAA Cross Country State Championships held at Holmdel Park. Our crews provided on-scene EMS support for this event, which brought thousands of people to the park for the day. Our crews also transported several patients to local hospitals for further medical care throughout the day. Great job to all runners!

This morning, several members of Holmdel First Aid Squad attended the Holmdel Township Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park. We presented a wreath at the memorial as a way to honor and thank our Armed Forces members for their service to our country. Two of our very own veterans were there to participate in the ceremony. HFAS would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all who served our great country. Thank you, Veterans!

In addition to all the emergencies our volunteers responded to these weekends, volunteer crews also dedicated their time to the Holmdel High School and St. John Vianney home football games last Friday night. Ambulances 1858 and 1859 were on standby at the respective home fields and provided EMS support. During the games a motor vehicle crash on the parkway and an emergency at a business in town were dispatched. Ambulances 1856 and 1857 handled those EMS calls ensuring township coverage and football game coverage. This wouldn’t have been possible without more than a dozen volunteers that evening. Great job to all those involved.

On Saturday, members and cadets of HFAS attended Holmdel Township’s Harvest Fest event at Bayonet Farms. We spent the day with our community members, showing them our ambulances, educating them about our squad, and letting them explore our equipment and supplies. We provided standby first aid support as for the event as well. We thoroughly enjoy this event every year, and had a great time on Saturday!

On Thursday evening 10/16/2025, EMS Leaders from surrounding agencies were hosted by Bayshore Medical Center to discuss training, operations, and other topics.

Representatives of Holmdel First Aid Squad, Hazlet First Aid Squad, Keyport First Aid Squad, Keansburg EMS, Union Beach EMS, and Morganville EMS met with leaders and administrators from Bayshore Medical Center to expand collaboration and ensure high quality communication.

“Bayshore continues to have the best Emergency Department staff. We are always greeted promptly with a smile and the transfer of patient care is the best around” was mentioned in Holmdel First Aid’s Chief report.

The heads of these agencies plan on meeting quarterly. We thank Bayshore Medical Center for their ongoing commitment to patient care and open communication with local EMS squads.

Our volunteers participated in the holmdelpolice Police Youth Academy today and last Wednesday. Duty Ambulance 1858, Ambulance 1857, and Chief Vehicle 1850 were on location at this awesome annual event to help explain our response and what we do as a first aid squad. Our volunteers showed the participants the basics of lifting and moving using the tools on our rigs, how our automatic stretchers function, the basics of splinting and bandaging injuries, and the basics of CPR. The participants had the opportunity to explore our emergency vehicles, to get hands-on experiences with our equipment, and to ask us questions about first aid and our first aid squad. We love doing this event each summer, and are already looking forward to next year!

Want to know more about us? Check out our socials or visit www.holmdelfirstaid.com for more information! We are always looking for more members, and are currently accepting applications for our Cadet program.
