The Holtsville Fire Department responded to this greenhouse fire on Portion Road today. Engine 6 arrived first due and extinguished the small fire burning towards the front of building. Holtsville Ladder 7, Ronkonkoma Truck 11 and Farmingville Engine 4 also responded. Units operated for about twenty minutes before becoming available.

The Holtsville Fire Department would like to extend a very sincere “Thank You” to everyone who donated to this years Food and Toy Drive. The turn out was once again overwhelming. This picture only shows what is left after more than half the of the toy donations were already distributed to the community with the help of numerous Sachem Schools. The rest of the toys will be donated to our local hospitals and the food will be donated to local food banks that take care of our community. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Holtsville Fire Department!

CHANGE IN DATE AND TIME DUE TO EXPECTED WEATHER

Here are the zones for the 2021 Holtsville Fire Department Santa Run that will take place on Sunday December 19th starting at noon. We will start with zone one and move on from there, please follow us using the GPS tracker that will be posted to this page once the event starts. Please remember that we can not go down streets that are dead ends or a cul de sac.
Also we will be collecting toys and non perishable food for families in need this holiday season.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.

Zone 1 borders : Long Island avenue to Log road. Waverly avenue to Blue point road

Zone 2: All the numbered streets

Zone 3: Summerfield

Zone 4 borders: Waverly avenue to Blue Point Road. Long Island Avenue to Express Drive South

Zone 5 borders: Express Drive North to portion Road. Waverly Avenue to Morris Avenue.

Zone 6 borders: Waverly Avenue to Nichols Road Long Island Avenue to Express Drive South

Zone 7 borders: Blue point road to North ocean Avenue Long Island Avenue to Express Drive South

Zone 8: Island 16 complex and Topgolf complex.

The Holtsville Fire Department annual food and toy drive is now under way! We will be accepting donations of canned foods and non perishable food items, as well as new, unwrapped toys. Just like last year, we will be placing a drop off box at the main entrance of our firehouse to drop off items at any time. The items we accept are donated directly to our community. Our firehouse is located at 1025 Waverly Ave. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call the firehouse or stop by. You can also check us out on Instagram

Earlier this week, The Holtsville Fire Department responded to this fire in the Ronkonkoma Fire District. Holtsville Truck 7 was the second due truck and operated on the floor above the fire where they found extension from the basement. Crews worked for about two hours before returning to service.

Santa Is Coming For The Annual Holtsville Fire Department Santa Run. With the help from members of the Holtsville Fire Department, Santa will be visiting Holtsville on Saturday, December 18th, Starting at 11am.

Santa’s helpers will also assist with accepting donations for the Toy & Food Drive to benefit those in need.

***** Please note, Santa wants to make sure he visits every family in Holtsville, but due to the amount of vehicles escorting Santa, will not be able to go down any dead end streets that do not have a cul de sac. If this is the case in your neighborhood we ask that you follow us on Facebook for our live location, and walk to the nearest corner for the arrival of Santa Clause. Late last night around 11:45 pm, The Holtsville Fire Department responded to this motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment and ejection. Upon arrival of all three chiefs and Rescue 4, the patient pinned in the vehicle was pronounced deceased. At this time, members started to assist the Suffolk County Aviation Paramedic and provided immediate life saving skills. One patient was transported to Stony Brook hospital in critical condition and another transported with minor injuries. 📸:
