During Social Workers Month, we’re proud to recognize the incredible social workers across iCare Health Network who help guide residents and families through some of life’s most complex moments. 💙

Social workers play an essential role in skilled nursing and long-term care, supporting residents whose needs often extend far beyond clinical care alone. From leading care plan meetings and completing PASRRs to helping address behavioral health needs, cognitive challenges, housing insecurity, and discharge planning, their work is both deeply practical and profoundly compassionate.

They advocate, coordinate, problem-solve, and collaborate across disciplines to help ensure every resident receives thoughtful, individualized support — no matter how complex the situation may be.

This year’s Social Workers Month theme from the National Association of Social Workers, Social Workers: Uplift. Defend. Transform., reflects the impact they make each day in our centers.

🌟 Celebrating Long Term Care Administrators Week! 🌟

Meet Kyle Bousquet, Administrator at MissionCare at Holyoke. Kyle became involved in long-term care early in life and quickly discovered a passion for helping others during an important stage of their lives.

Some of his favorite moments are spent simply talking with residents, listening to their stories about family, work, and the experiences that shaped who they are. As Kyle shares:
“Being able to support people during this stage of their lives is both meaningful and deeply rewarding.”

Kyle believes compassion is at the heart of everything his team does. In his words:
“In long-term care, we play a critical role during what can be one of the most challenging stages of a person’s life. Being able to provide compassion, support, and dignity during that time is why I am passionate about the work we do every day.”

He leads by fostering an open, approachable environment where staff, residents, and families feel comfortable communicating and working together. Kyle also believes residents are some of the greatest teachers, reminding the team daily of the wisdom and perspective they bring to the community.

Last week, we proudly celebrated Activities Professionals Day, recognizing the dedicated Therapeutic Recreation, Life Enrichment, and Activities teams across iCare Health Network - the creative and compassionate professionals behind so many meaningful moments for our residents.

Quality of life is shaped by more than clinical care alone. It’s built through connection, engagement, laughter, and purpose. Our Activities Professionals bring these elements to life every day, designing programs that support physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being - from group activities and celebrations to meaningful one-on-one interactions.

Established by the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP), Activities Professionals Day is observed annually on the fourth Friday of January to honor those who enhance quality of life through person-centered, therapeutic engagement.

Across iCare, our Activities Professionals foster community, champion holistic wellness, build trusted relationships, and create experiences that bring joy and meaning to daily life.

We extend our deepest gratitude to every Activities Director, Recreation Team Member, and Life Enrichment Specialist across our network. Thank you for all that you do.
