β€οΈπOur community came together for a beautiful Black History Month lunch and learn that uplifted the powerful legacy of Mildred and Richard Loving. The couple challenged Virginiaβs law that made their marriage illegal, and their case reached the Supreme Court, which ruled in 1967 that people have the freedom to marry the person they love. Their courage opened the door for countless families and affirmed that love and commitment deserve respect and protection.
Through guided reflections, and engaging icebreakers, we created a gentle and welcoming space for honest conversation, shared experiences, and deep listening. Participants offered stories from their own lives, shared delicious food inspired by Black culture, and built connections across tables reminding us how collective understanding helps us grow stronger together.
Let this moment inspire us to keep choosing curiosity, compassion, and community care. π
