Rev. Jesse Jackson spent more than five decades pushing America to live up to its own promises. He stood with Dr. King. He ran for president to expand who felt seen in politics. He built the Rainbow Coalition to unite Black, Latino, poor, rural, and working-class communities under one shared demand. Dignity.
His life reminds us that civil rights is not history. It is daily work. It is voting. It is organizing. It is speaking when silence feels easier.
The torch now sits with us.
