What we did not expect?

The joy he would bring.

Phyllis spent the day “playing with him.”
Residents gathered together to watch him swim.
Even the different little groups started sitting together.

One resident smiled and gently “petted” the glass.

When he was cold, we added a heater.
When he needed more room, we upgraded his tank.

Now they are all asking when we can get more fish. 😊

In December 1950, this room held residents gathered together as children arrived to sing Christmas carols.
Seventy-plus years later, we recreated this moment with today’s residents and staff standing in the very same place.

The faces have changed.
The heart has not ❤️

This home has always been about presence. Sitting together. Being known. Sharing the season side by side 🎄
