Our Story
South Peninsula Hospital is located in Homer, Alaska, overlooking the Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains. We are a 22-bed critical access hospital with an attached 28-bed long-term care facility. We provide state-of-the-art technology and equipment, and are proud to have a staff of over 400.
Included in our active medical staff are specialists in ophthalmology, psychiarty, orthopedics, anestesiology, radiology and emergency medicine as well as our family practice doctors and general surgeons. We also have courtesy, consulting and allied staff including midwifery, cardiology, urology, otolaryngology, oncology, dentistry and pathology.
South Peninsual Hospital was recently named one of the top 100 critical access hospitals in the iVantage Health Analytics' Hospital Strength survey, scoring best amoung 1,300 hospitals on 56 different performance measures including quality, outcomes, patient perspective, affordability and efficiency.
