🧠 Understanding Neurodiversity 🌈
Neurodiversity is the concept that neurological differences—such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and others—are natural variations of the human brain. These differences are not problems to be “fixed,” but unique ways of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world.
Common characteristics may include:
• Differences in communication (verbal or non-verbal)
• Unique ways of relating to others
• Deep interests and repetitive behaviors
• Heightened sensitivity to sounds, lights, or textures
How to support neurodiverse individuals:
✔ Listen and respect their ways of communicating
✔ Create safe and predictable environments
✔ Encourage and value their special interests
Remember what it is NOT:
🚫 Not a disease
🚫 Not caused by parenting
🚫 Not a measure of someone’s worth or abilities
💜 Each person is unique. With understanding and respect, we can create inclusive spaces where everyone has the chance to thrive.
