During the hot summer months, here are some things you can do to avoid breathing difficulties, heat stroke, asthma attacks, and more.
*Avoid the heat, especially between 11AM and 3PM
*Keep out of the sun for long periods of time, wear loose clothing & a hat
*Reduce strenuous activity (both indoors and outdoors)
*Drink cold water to keep from becoming dehydrated
*Keep your house cool
*Take showers or baths or just splash your face with cool water
*Check pollution and pollen levels if you have hay fever or other allergies
*Use a handheld fan
*Pack essentials if you are traveling or out during high temperatures to include water, medications, portable fan, etc.

Bronchitis symptoms: persistent cough, sore throat, chest pain or congestion, wheezing, shortness of breath, chills and body aches
Pneumonia symptoms: fever, chest pain, productive cough, shortness of breath, headache, fatigue and chills.

Stay hydrated! With heat temperatures rising and high heat index exceeding 100 degrees, remember to drink plenty of water. In hot weather, people sweat more and are more prone to suffer from dehydration. This can dry out nasal passage, bronchial tubes and lungs, resulting in shortness of breath.
