Rescue - On Saturday, March 14, FF/PMs Matt Soraghan and Devin Vance responded to a medical alert alarm that quickly escalated into a dangerous situation.
Upon arrival, they observed smoke coming from a two-story apartment building and immediately upgraded the incident to a working fire.
After donning full PPE, they initiated a primary search and located a resident trapped in a stairwell on a wheelchair, unable to escape as conditions rapidly deteriorated. The crew successfully carried the victim to safety.
Without hesitation, they then re-entered the structure to continue their search on the fire floor-operating unassisted by a hose line.
We are extremely proud of the decisive actions, courage, and commitment demonstrated by Devin and Matt. Their quick thinking and selfless efforts resulted in the successful rescue of this resident and reflect the highest standards of fire service.
