Reflecting on a truly busy and fulfilling October! I am so grateful for the opportunities to connect with families and providers across the state. From walking in honor of loss to hosting a Postpartum Wellness Day and training behavioral health professionals, this month was dedicated to education, connection, and expanding support for perinatal mental health.

In honor of Black Breastfeeding Week, we are amplifying the voices and experiences of Black parents. We recognize the historical and cultural barriers that have led to disparities in infant feeding. This week is a celebration of Black resilience, a time to advocate for equitable care, and a crucial reminder that every family deserves culturally competent and compassionate support.

This week, we join the celebration of Black Breastfeeding Week. This movement, led by Black women, is dedicated to addressing the unique challenges and celebrating the beauty and strength of the Black breastfeeding journey.

We are committed to providing a safe, supportive space for all mothers, and we stand in solidarity to help close the racial disparities in breastfeeding rates. By raising awareness, we can work towards a future where every Black family feels seen, heard, and supported in their infant feeding choices.
