Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness worldwide, but modern treatment offers a safe and effective way to restore clearer vision. A monofocal lens is the standard lens option used in cataract surgery and is typically covered by insurance. We also offer a range of advanced technology lens options that may help reduce or even eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses after surgery.
At Jenkins Eye Care, our team takes a comprehensive approach to diagnosis, consultation and treatment, helping each patient understand their options and feel confident in their care. The goal of standard cataract surgery is to remove the cloudy lens and restore clearer vision, often with the continued use of glasses after surgery. Because every eye is unique, each surgical plan is thoughtfully tailored to your vision needs and lifestyle.
If cloudy vision, faded colors, glare, halos or difficulty seeing at night are affecting your daily life, it may be time for a comprehensive evaluation. Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness worldwide, developing when the eye’s natural lens becomes cloudy and begins to interfere with clear vision. They do not go away on their own, and when they become visually significant or begin to affect quality of life, surgery may be the appropriate next step.
At Jenkins Eye Care, modern cataract surgery is approached with precision, preparation and care at every stage. Through advanced techniques and personalized treatment, patients can achieve greater visual clarity and may also reduce their dependence on glasses.

Cataract surgery has come a long way.

There are still many misconceptions about cataracts and treatment, but modern cataract surgery is safer, more advanced and more personalized than many people realize. Cataracts are progressive and do not go away on their own, and when vision becomes affected, surgery may be the most effective next step.
Today’s techniques are designed with precision, efficiency and patient comfort in mind. The procedure itself typically takes less than 15 minutes, which many patients find reassuring. The eye is also numbed with drops beforehand, so most patients do not experience pain during surgery. Together, these advances help patients feel more at ease while achieving clearer vision and improved quality of life.
If you are noticing cloudy vision, glare, difficulty driving at night or other changes in your sight, it may be time to learn more about your options.

Glaucoma management is not one-time treatment, it is a long-term strategy focused on protecting the optic nerve and preserving vision over time. Because glaucoma can be asymptomatic in its early stages, comprehensive testing and ongoing monitoring are essential components of care.
At Jenkins Eye Care, treatment plans are individualized and may include prescription eye drops and laser as first-line therapy, as well as advanced options such as laser procedures, micro-incisional glaucoma surgery (MIGS), or traditional glaucoma surgery when appropriate to achieve better control of intraocular pressure.
If you have risk factors, a family history of glaucoma, or have been told your eye pressure is elevated, timely evaluation can make a meaningful difference.

Dr. Neda Nikpoor recently shared a glimpse into her time at the AECOS Winter Symposium, held in Aspen, Colorado — a premier event bringing together leaders in ophthalmology. From participating in a panel discussion and sitting on an advisory board to recording an educational video for STAAR Surgical, Dr. Nikpoor was proud to contribute to important conversations shaping the future of eye care. She even made time to ski Highland Bowl at Aspen with colleagues, making it a memorable blend of education, collaboration and connection. We’re proud to see our physicians continuing to learn, lead and represent Jenkins Eye Care on a national stage.
