Plaza Assisted Living communities offer Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Extended

The Plaza Assisted Living began with our first community, The Plaza at Punchbowl, which opened its doors in January 2004. Our second community, The Plaza at Mililani, welcomed residents in February of 2010 followed by The Plaza at Moanalua, which opened in the Fall of 2012. Our fourth, fifth and sixth Assisted Living communities, The Plaza at Pearl City, Waikiki and Kaneohe, opened in the Fall of 2014, 2015 and the summer of 2019 respectively.

Service dogs do more than offer companionship. They are specially trained to support individuals with specific needs, providing comfort, guidance, and reassurance. At The Plaza at Kaneohe, our community comes together with heart and purpose.

Thanks to the generosity of our team members, residents, and their families, we raised over $1,800 to support the Lāhui Foundation. These funds will go directly toward helping families on the North Shore as they rebuild after the recent flooding.

Moments like these reflect what makes our community so special. It is not just where we live, but how we care for one another and for our island home.

Yesterday for St. Patrick’s Day, we were delighted to welcome Irish Dance Oahu for an engaging performance that brought energy and joy to our community. Residents enjoyed learning about Irish culture, discovering different styles of dance, and even joining in the fun. Moments like these create connection, laughter, and lasting memories for everyone involved.

Our residents at The Plaza at Waikiki recently completed a special journey through culture and tradition with our Plaza Voyage to China celebration.

We were honored to welcome the Asian Lion Dance Team, who shared an incredible lion dance blessing with our community. Their visit was especially meaningful as it coincided with the traditional close of the Lunar New Year season, marked by the Lantern Festival. Residents enjoyed learning about the cultural significance while experiencing the vibrant performance up close.

The celebration continued with a wonderful Tai Chi demonstration and class, where residents had the opportunity to learn gentle movements that support balance, focus, and relaxation.

Throughout the voyage, residents also explored creativity through hands-on activities, crafting beautiful Year of the Horse door hangers and origami fans to commemorate the occasion.

It was a joyful experience filled with culture, learning, movement, and connection. Moments like these reflect the vibrant community life we cherish at The Plaza.

Today we welcomed second graders from Manana Elementary School who shared a joyful morning with our residents. The students sang songs and spent time creating colorful flower crafts together, filling the room with laughter and conversation.

This morning, a few of our residents had the joy of giving back to the community with a special visit to He‘eia Elementary School for a Dr. Seuss Read-A-Loud.

From silly rhymes to big smiles, the classrooms were filled with laughter and excitement as our residents shared their love of reading with the students. Moments like these remind us how meaningful connections across generations can be.

Mahalo to the wonderful students and teachers at He‘eia Elementary for welcoming us so warmly. It was a morning full of joy, imagination, and community.

Our residents enjoyed an outing to Splendors of Ikebana, hosted by the Ikebana International Honolulu Chapter 56. The exhibit showcased the elegance and meaning behind the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging.

This visit was especially meaningful as one of our very own residents was featured as an exhibitor. Friends from the community came together to admire the arrangements and show their support.

A Very Special 107th Birthday at The Plaza at Mililani

We had the joy of celebrating Bernice as she turned 107 years young, surrounded by family, friends, and our Mililani community. With beautiful lei, dancing, laughter, and her signature sense of fun, Bernice reminded us all what it means to stay young at heart.

We were also honored to welcome Island News to the celebration. Photojournalist Paul Omengkar joined the festivities and helped share Bernice’s incredible story with our island community. Mahalo to the Island News team for making this milestone even more memorable.

We were honored to welcome Gee Yung Chinese Martial Arts, Dragon and Lion Dance Sports Association, who brought incredible energy, tradition, and meaning to our community. Residents enjoyed offering red envelopes, sharing smiles, and experiencing the vibrant sights and sounds of this special celebration.
