We appreciate our volunteers every single day, but this week gave us the chance to shine an extra light on their stories — including Kamaka Pili’s.

From the moment he steps into our Lanakila Pacific Meals on Wheels facility, Kamaka shows what it means to serve with intention. Every kupuna he visits, is done with deep aloha.

Kamaka shares that he keeps coming back because he was raised by his beloved tutu, who has since passed. Delivering meals to our kupuna helps him feel connected to her — honoring the love, care, and values she instilled in him.

He delivers more than nourishment. He delivers remembrance, connection, and the kind of compassion that keeps our community strong.

Mahalo nui, Kamaka, and mahalo to every volunteer who shows up with heart. You are the reason our mission continues.

If you’d like to support our kupuna or join us as a volunteer, we’d love to have you. Link in caption to donate or get involved.

💙 Mahalo to Our Volunteers 💙

During Volunteer Appreciation Week, we extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible volunteers who have been the heart of Lanakila Pacific Meals on Wheels for over 55 years. Your time, care, and commitment help deliver more than meals—you bring connection, compassion, and dignity to the kupuna we serve every day.

As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we honor the countless volunteers who have helped nourish our community and continue the legacy of caring for seniors across Oʻahu. Mahalo for showing up with aloha and making a lasting difference. 🌺

Programs like Kupuna Wellness support the health, well‑being, and independence of older adults by creating opportunities to move, learn, and build meaningful connections with one another.
