Your AED might look ready.
But is it really.

If you still have a LIFEPAK CR Plus or EXPRESS, this matters.

Key accessories for these models are being discontinued in February 2026.
Pads and CHARGE-PAK availability is already tightening.

No pads. No charge. No shock.

An AED on the wall can feel reassuring.
Until the day it is needed and cannot perform.

This is not about fear.
It is about planning while options still exist.

If you manage AEDs for your workplace, school, jobsite, or facility, now is the time to review your readiness and plan the next step.

Swipe through to understand what to check and why it matters.

Questions are welcome.
Preparedness starts with awareness.

This is what our work really looks like.

Sitting down with people. Listening to real concerns. Answering honest questions about what to do when an AED is truly needed.

Most people think the hardest part is the device.
In reality, it’s confidence.

That’s why we offer free monthly AED and CPR awareness sessions at the airport.
No pressure. No sales. Just real conversations and hands-on practice so people don’t freeze when it’s real.

Preparedness starts with asking questions.
Confidence grows when you practice.

If you want to join a session or bring this kind of readiness to your team, reach out anytime.

Opioid overdoses can stop someone’s breathing long before their heart stops, but when the heart does stop, only an AED can bring it back.

This is why every community, workplace, hotel, and school should have:
✔ Narcan
✔ AED
✔ People trained to act quickly

Together, they give someone the highest chance of surviving an overdose emergency.

Aloha Universe! 🌺 AED Institute and Hawaii Heart Foundation need your help! Our office must relocate as our current building is set to be torn down. We're searching for a space of 4,000-6,000 sq ft, with 15 parking spots, and convenient access for our students and customers. Sharing Knowledge, Saving Lives

In the State of Hawaii, the survival rate for sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is only about 12%, and less than 3 out of 10 people in Hawaii know how to do good quality chest compressions. We have 2 minutes to start some type of intervention before the brain starts to die. Every minute that we wait, the victim’s chance of survival decreases by 10%. Studies find that if compressions are started, and an AED can be applied within the first 2 minutes of cardiac arrest, the person goes from a 10% chance of survival to a 90% chance of survival.

For the past 14 years, AED Institute has managed the Public Access to Defibrillation (PAD) program at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, with more than a 70% save rate. AED Institute also manages the AED Program for the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Transportation-Harbors Devision, as well as various businesses and schools across the State of Hawaii.
