Reiki classes are often the first step into the realm of energy medicine. For many, it’s the first time they *feel* the subtle flow of energy through their hands — a moment of awe and connection that words can barely describe. 💫

This awareness opens a door beyond the physical… into a space science is only beginning to explore. Current research suggests Reiki influences the *biofield* — the body’s natural field of energy and information that surrounds and interpenetrates every living being, through mechanisms yet unknown. 🌿

Your racing heart in crowds? Your freeze response when overwhelmed? These aren't flaws—they're your nervous system's creative solutions to past threats.

Your amygdala became overactive to protect you. Your hippocampus struggles to know "that was then, this is now." Your body learned to survive, and it did it brilliantly.

As we make changes and love who we’re becoming, we often meet deeper resistance in the form of a healing crisis. Our ancestors have passed on ways of being that have kept us safe, but may have also kept us small, unnoticeable, immobilized. As we’re ready to break through, our symptoms can flare as new, unfamiliar ways of being plunge us into an unknown that unconsciously or subconsciously feels threatening. This is a good time to pause, listen and help your body discern what’s true and not, and to receive support from your mind-body team of practitioners to update your thoughts and your nervous system. This is the Work, folks! It can be rough, but change is on the other side. You got this. 👊🏽 Trust! 💖

Yaaas! Another cohort of heart-centered folks have completed their first level training in Reiki, deepening their understanding of and connection to the healing, universal energies that power this thing called life. 💖🌟

I remember when I had my first attunement to Reiki and began working on myself every day for the past 20 years since then. It lit up an inquisitive fire inside me as I experienced the inexplicable, magical side of healing that continues to fascinate me to this day. It’s partly what inspired me to become a chiropractor, to learn more about vitalistic and traditional healing approaches. It’s fun to watch science slowly catch up to the wonder of it. Let’s try this theory: “Energy medicine (the use of known subtle energy fields to therapeutically assess and treat energetic imbalances, of which Reiki is a prime example) as a healing intervention positively influences distorted frequencies of brain waves, organ resonance and endocrine/chakra systems, returning them to a more coherent, harmonic vibrational state, aka homeostasis (balance).” 🧐😃
