Thank you to board member Kevin Lockette who created and implemented the Harmonica Parkinson’s Project. It began with the Harmonica for Parkinson’s Speech Study that was recently completed with the abstract being accepted for the 7th World Parkinson Congress in 2026!

It has now been turned into a book where any group of people with Parkinson’s and their care partners can start their very own harmonica group. No experience necessary.

🎶 Do you have Parkinson’s and have difficulties with your speech and swallowing? Be a part of of Hawaii‘s first ever harmonica study. In this study, we set out to determine if playing the harmonica, along with speech therapy, can improve speech and swallowing symptoms.

Plus it will be fun! No experience necessary and a harmonica will be provided at no cost.
