We are coalition of local, national, and global partners focused on eliminating hepatitis in Hawai'i.

Hep Free Hawai`i (HFH) is a grassroots campaign started by hepatitis advocates in Hawai`i to bring attention to the epidemic of chronic hepatitis B and C and liver disease in our islands. Through increasing awareness, HFH hopes to encourage everyone in Hawai`i to learn their hepatitis status, and for those living with hepatitis or other liver disease to access the care they need to live healthy lives.

⏳ Delays in the HepB birth dose cost lives ⏳

Delaying hepatitis B vaccination increases the risk of chronic infection, liver cancer, and preventable deaths—especially for babies whose mothers weren’t tested during pregnancy.

Even babies with mothers who test negative face higher risks:
➡️ 2-month delay: 62+ preventable deaths & 39 cases of liver cancer
➡️ 12-year delay: 163+ preventable deaths & 107 cases of liver cancer

For babies with unknown maternal HepB status, the numbers are staggering:
➡️ 12-year delay: 788+ preventable deaths & 503 cases of liver cancer
