A message from Dr Katy:

After over 8 years of dedicating myself to the clients, patients, and community of All Animal Care Clinic and the Columbia Gorge, this is going to be a difficult goodbye.

From Covid to kittens, from a sleepy clinic to The Best of The Gorge, I've shared in your triumphs and tragedies, in your beginnings, ends, and in-betweens. You have my deep gratitude for the support and trust that I have received from you all over the years.

All Animal Care Clinic will be welcoming Drs Kendra Moulton and Becky Brandenburg beginning September 1st.

As for me, my husband and I will be taking a sabbatical and then I am returning to emergency medicine. I will initially be in the Seattle metro area, but will be returning next year to practice as an emergency veterinarian west of Portland.

See Something, Do Something! Why Wait? Aspirate!

Have you noticed any new or growing lumps or bumps on your pet? Check out this video from veterinary cancer specialist Dr Sue Cancer Vet, and be sure to have Dr Katy examine it at your pet's next visit.

Spring tick season is upon us!

In our area, ticks primarily carry 3 diseases: Ehrlichiosis, Anaplasmosis, and Lyme. And in their early stages of life, they can be nearly impossible to see in your pet's coat. This is why tick prevention is so important in our region!

If your pets aren't protected, we have options to help!

Fleas!
How much do you know?
Did you know that, in addition to being itchy and unpleasant, fleas carry disease?
Did you know that fleas can be active all year? Dr Katy commonly diagnoses pets with fleas, even in the coldest months!

The Companion Animal Parasite Council recommends year-round flea and tick protection for all dogs and cats.

Giardia!
Did you know that, in 2022, approximately 11% of dog stool samples, sent from Oregon and Washington to the major diagnostic labs, were positive for giardia?

Giardia is an intestinal parasite that can cause a wide variety of clinical signs. Some dogs may have no symptoms while others may be very sick with vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration. Just one of the many reasons that stool samples are recommended as part of wellness care!

Sweet Pea is looking for a home. Please respond to the current owner. Information below:

She is a fixed female with a clipped ear perhaps as old as 5 years. She is shy, but super sweet, affectionate, smart and craving attention. Would prefer a one cat house, but has lived with our 3 other cats and a Golden retriever for the last year. It’s the other animals that have a problem. She uses a litter box, hasn’t scratched furniture and has a quiet meow. Reluctant to leave the house. Emphasis on sweet. Has had her shots, seen at Tucker Road Animal Hospital last month for a uti.
Thank you, Mike Parkinson cp 541 400-0075.

Hey neighbors, anyone looking for a bonifide awesome kitty companion? We need help finding this sweet rescued girl a good home (preferably) or short term foster. I took her in after helping care-give for a friend for a few weeks in PDX during that last insane snow storm. She came to our door meowing, shivering and very thin. She is very human-centric and won us over immediately! We’ve done the work to ensure she’s nobody’s missing pet (Neighbors think she’s from a litter under an abandoned trailer nearby). Us fosterers cannot keep her due to having too many pets each at this time. But we can verify after weeks spent with her that she will be one of those ALL-STAR life time amazing cat companions in her forever home!

ABOUT: She’s about 3 years old. She’s already potty trained and is in good health. She’s unique looking, dainty, goofy, has the softest little meow & talks back, likes to snuggle and is very open to new things and eager to be loved (We think she’s a catch!;) She needs a home where she can be center stage, have her place on a bed or couch, and be played with as she is engaging and smart.

She’s currently in Bingen, WA and is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. There will be a rehoming fee but just to cover this initial cost (est $150-200). However, we’re willing to work with that fee as a good home is first priority. A Meet & Greet and possibly home visit are required. Will start with “Foster to Adopt” if interested.

*ALSO LOOKING FOR SHORT TERM FOSTERERS!

**We know about local rescues but are trying to avoid taking her to one and further overwhelming them. Trying to keep her in loving homes locally until she gets to her forever home.

Contact Jess at 808-two 6 nine- 7894 if interested!

I (Mish) want to thank all of our clients and staff for an amazing 7 years. I’ve learned so much and have been able to love on so many of your pets. I’ve decided to leave the veterinary career for now, take a break, then renew my efforts to help with local cat rescue. I will miss everyone ❤️🐾 my last day will be 3/21/23 so feel free to stop in and say goodbye. ❤️ Mish Troglin
