I DON'T KNOW IF YOU HAVE NOTICED...BUT THIS YEAR'S RHINOVIRUS/ENTEROVIRUS AS BEEN DISRESPECTFUL!
Here is a little information about the two:
🌡️ What You Should Know About Rhinovirus & Enterovirus 🤧
Ever wondered why you catch a “cold” or why kids sometimes get sick in the fall? Two common culprits are rhinoviruses and enteroviruses. Here’s what you need to know ⬇️
🦠 Rhinovirus
• #1 cause of the common cold.
• Spreads through coughing, sneezing, or touching contaminated surfaces.
• Symptoms: runny nose, sore throat, mild cough, sneezing, sometimes a low fever.
• Most people recover in 7–10 days, but wash hands often to avoid spreading it!
🦠 Enterovirus
• Shows up most in late summer and early fall.
• Can cause mild cold-like symptoms or tummy troubles.
• In kids, sometimes linked to hand-foot-and-mouth disease (small blisters in the mouth, on hands, and feet).
• Rarely, it may cause more serious problems, so keep an eye on high fevers, severe headache, or trouble breathing.
👶 Children vs. Adults
• Children get these viruses more often because their immune systems are still learning. They’re also in close contact at schools and playgrounds.
• Adults usually have milder symptoms, but they can still get sick and pass it along.
💡 Prevention Tips
• 🧼 Wash hands with soap and water often.
• 🚫 Don’t share cups, utensils, or water bottles.
• 🤧 Cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow or tissue.
• 🏃♂️ Stay active, eat healthy, and get plenty of rest to keep your immune system strong.
✅ Bottom Line
Most rhinovirus and enterovirus infections are mild and go away on their own. But if symptoms are severe, last longer than expected, or you’re worried—especially with children—contact your doctor.
