Which is so beautiful…and so deserved.
But who is caring for mom?
This is where postpartum doula support comes in!

A postpartum doula is there to:
• Listen to your birth story, your thoughts, feelings, questions, and concerns
• Nurture mama with food, rest, and gentle physical & emotional support
• Provide education and guidance through newborn care and navigating feeding
• Ease the transition for the whole family
• Assist with light housekeeping or simple errands so you can focus on recovery and getting all the baby snuggles

Postpartum isn’t meant to just be survived, it’s meant to be supported.

That white coating your baby is born with? It’s called vernix caseosa. Think of it as womb-made lotion with beneficial properties!

Made up of protective oils, shed skin cells, and lanugo (that fine prenatal hair), vernix is so much more than a birth day “mess.”
It’s nature’s way of offering your baby protection!

So what does it do?
-Acts as a natural moisturizer, keeping baby’s skin soft and supple
-Provides antimicrobial protection, helping shield baby from bacteria
-Supports temperature regulation as baby transitions earthside
-Aids in skin healing and development

So do you need to wash it off?

Dear Mama,
I see you. The depth of your love and dedication. It’s the kind that gives endlessly, even when your cup feels empty. I see your strength. In every breath you take through labor, every sleepless night, every moment you choose presence over perfection. You carry so much. You give so much. And through it all, you love with a strong heart, even in the chaos.

As a doula, I have the honor of walking beside you… witnessing your journey through pregnancy, birth, and the sacred transition into motherhood. I am in awe of you.

You are not just surviving. You are creating, nurturing, and loving so unconditionally.

You’re not just a client, you’re human—and I see you

This work is sacred.
It’s not just about birth and the baby; It’s about holding space, witnessing strength, and being fully with someone in one of their most transformational moments.
As your doula, you’re not just a client to me.
You’re a whole person. A person with a unique background, story, and set of needs. A person deserving of presence, love, and support.
Each mother has a story. Each mother has a journey. It’s an honor each time I am invited in.

Happy Monday! Let’s talk about some mindful practices we can use to start off the week! 🌿

•Practice Meditation
Even if it’s 5 minutes of your day! Find a time to sit and be with yourself in the present moment without judgment.

•Mindful Eating
Listen to your body when it comes to food. Eat when you are feeling hunger cues, stop eating when you are feeling full! Set aside time to eat without multitasking.

•Practice Gratitude
At some point during your day, try to think of things you are grateful for! Whether it’s time taken to reflect or writing in a gratitude journal at the end of your day, these practices can make us feel a bit happier!

•Limit Screen Time
Think of the times you mindlessly scroll through your phone. Maybe it’s before bed. While you eat lunch? Use that time instead to practice mindfulness instead!

•Mindful Movement
We don’t have to push ourselves to the absolute limit every time we exercise and add movement to our day. Listen to your body. Are you tired? Opt sir something like a gentle yoga flow or simple walk in nature. Feeling energized? Try cycling or strength training! Add movement that feels right to you!

💛 Simple Ways to Support a New Mom 💛

The early postpartum days can be exhausting and overwhelming. Here’s how you can truly help a new mom:

🛒 Run Errands – Pick up groceries, diapers, or anything she needs.
🍽 Drop Off a Meal – A warm meal is a lifesaver when she’s too tired to cook.
📞 Check In – A simple "How are you feeling?" can mean the world.
🧹 Help with Chores – Do the dishes, fold laundry, or tidy up—without being asked.
💖 Respect Her Space – Offer help, but don’t expect long visits.
