Wound Care 101: Cleanse with 1:4 vinegar-water (No hydrogen peroxide, it kills healing cells). Apply copious Vaseline, then gauze (No neomycin! It causes allergic reactions. Even if you’re not currently allergic, applying it to an open wound will eventually sensitize you.) Affix gauze to arms and legs Coban or Ace wrap, other areas with paper tape.

Reminder that our free screening clinic is occurring tomorrow! On Friday, April 10 from 8a-4p, we will be providing free skin cancer checks with scheduling priority given to teachers and first responders.

It is estimated that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime, and approximately twenty people die of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, each day. Yet when caught early, skin cancer is highly treatable. We have just a few spots left if you would like to join us :)
