Jason Weimer serves as Director of Operations, overseeing Pafford's operations in Western Oklahoma and Texas. He brings 25 years of EMS experience to this role and joined Pafford one year ago. Jason began his first-responder journey as a volunteer firefighter with a local fire department, and soon realized EMS was where he belonged.
Being shaped by mentorship himself, Jason places a strong emphasis on developing people and providing guidance. One lesson that has stayed with him throughout his career is to look at the process before the person when something goes wrong, which reinforces accountability while keeping his team supported.
"Leading EMS professionals in both Oklahoma City and Fort Worth means I operate in a corridor that combines the Texas 'can-do' spirit with Oklahoma’s 'pioneer' resilience," Jason says. "I value the rare partnership between civic leaders, business owners, and EMS in both regions and take pride in the concept of community trusteeship."
Jason believes it’s important for the public to understand the reality of EMS work and the lasting impact it can have on patients. An ambulance is not simply a transport vehicle; it’s a high-intensity, mobile medical environment where teams are delivering ER-level care under challenging conditions and making critical decisions in real time to save lives.
Guided by the principle, “Be the thermostat, not the thermometer,” Jason believes EMS leaders have a responsibility to regulate chaos, not react to it. Looking ahead, he’s most excited about Pafford’s commitment to maintaining its family culture, even as the organization grows across major metro areas and ensuring the neighbor-helping-neighbor mindset remains at the core of everything his team members do.
