As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in all three states, I provide ethical and clinically thorough ESA assessments for people seeking documentation for housing accommodations under the Fair Housing Act.

Here’s what the evaluation includes:
• A full mental health assessment
• DSM-5 diagnostic review
• Functional impairment evaluation
• Discussion of how an ESA can help alleviate symptoms
• A legally compliant ESA letter for housing (when clinically appropriate)
• Optional annual renewals
These evaluations are cash-pay and available to anyone who is physically located in NY, FL, or VT at the time of the appointment (telehealth or in person).

I've been in private practice providing psychotherapy services for 25 years on a part-time basis while working full time.

On 11/27/24 I will officially turn the page and close the chapter in my career working full-time as the Chief Compliance and Resolution Officer for a behavioral health organization and expand my private practice to full-time.

In my practice I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFT), serving adult individuals age 25 and up.

I am fully licensed in NYS to provide both in-person and telehealth services.

I am also licensed in VT and FL for telehealth.

I am continuing at my current office in Hopewell Junction for in-person sessions while also providing telehealth. I accept many commercial insurance plans and private pay and am accepting new referrals. 😉

We met at a playgroup when our children were only crawling (2005 prob) and we are still friends after all these years. So great getting together tonight and swapping pics of our kids (now all in college), reminiscing, catching up, laughing and making future plans like no time has passed.

Being AUTHENTIC means having a keen awareness of:

👉 WHO you are

👉 EXPRESSING YOURSELF Honestly and consistently to the world 🦋

Authenticity is an essential part of developing meaningful relationships with yourself first and with others.

When people show up with their vulnerabilities, it allows them to truly connect with and feel close to themselves and to others. 🎆

Fear of rejection often prevents people from expressing their authentic selves. They put up a "mask" and change their behavior in order to fit in or act in a way that others think they should. 🛑

⚠️ THIS is very challenging and exhausting.

When you are not true to yourself and who you are, you are likely to feel:
➡️ Isolated
➡️ Alone
➡️ Guilt
➡️ Shame
➡️ Doubtful
➡️ Second-guess yourself

If this YOU, pause, look inward, and ask yourself:

"What does it mean for me to be authentic?"

Midlife is a stage of life that can be very challenging for women. It's a transitional period characterized by various physical, psychological, and docile changes. Women may feel lonely and challenged because of the following ⤵️

➡️ societal expectations
➡️ reflection of life
➡️ body image
➡️ career
➡️ self-comparison
➡️ coping with aging

SILENT CUES YOU ARE DISCONNECTED:

Do you ever feel you are going through the motions of your life?

Do you ever feel you’re a shell of yourself and are hollow inside?

I sure have felt this during a season of my life, and so have MY CLIENTS.

The thing is, we aren’t feeling connected to whatever task or project you are working on, OR TO OURSELVES. YOU ARE DISCONNECTED.

Your Mindset: ⬇️

🚫No passion.
🚫Unmotivated.
🚫Feel stuck.

Listen to your body. It’s talking to you.
For me, I was ignoring my body’s signs and kept trudging forward; dissatisfied and unfulfilled.

⚠️I was missing connection and passion.

Instead, I was doing what I was told to do by others. What I “should” be doing.

For the clients I work with, they went many years living this way. As a shell of themselves, only to reach their midlife years, reflect back and think, “WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING ALL THESE YEARS??”🛑

My friends, don’t let this you! It’s time to pay attention. Pay attention to the signs. Notice what’s pulling at you and go for it.

You have years of life ahead of you to be lived and enjoyed by doing the things you’re passionate about and bring you joy.

THE JOURNEY OF LETTING GO AS A PARENT OF A COLLEGE FRESHMAN ⬇️

I was sitting in a lecture hall the other day during parent orientation.

You can feel the nervousness of the college freshman parents in the air, myself included, as we learn about the phases of a freshman’s transition from living at home to living on college campus, away from home.

This year, especially the second half of my son’s senior year in high school has been filled with all the feels.
✨ Mixed emotions.
✨ Up and down.
✨ Excited for what’s to come for my son.
✨ Sad because he is moving away.
✨ Denial.
✨ Then excited again.

As time ticks closer, it is becoming very bittersweet for me. I know I will need to let go and let my son evolve, grow and experience this chapter of his life.

But WOW it’s hard. I am expecting it to become harder for me when I drive off after we get him settled into his dorm on move-in day and drive off.

I know I’ll enjoy listening to his new college life stories and be as excited as he is for his new experiences.
