Travelling with Trauma

Travelling with Trauma The search for Trauma resources that can help us, living in a small community.... finding support is often the biggest challenge

This page is about sharing information, potential resources, training opportunities for the purpose of healing from trauma. We live in a community that is surrounded and reflected in the social issues within it. There are many different forms of trauma surrounding us, but very few people really understand its impact and how to work with it, especially in places such as the Northern Territory. People seeking help from practitioners need to know they should interview their provider to ensure that person has competency. Because as many survivors know, its actually difficult to find someone who has the skills and knowledge to work with complex trauma. The trauma space changes so much with new learning. We have moved from just talk therapies to more somatic and body based work.. where the story is not always the focus. We know now that trauma work needs to be driven by the survivor at their pace and that it cant just be top down, but bottom up. So we seek to search, to learn and to promote ways we can heal.
