This month, we are proud to highlight Quiant’e Whitehead, one of the dedicated professionals who help bring our mission to life at I am Me Services.

As a Respiratory Therapist who graduated Cum Laude and a Phlebotomy Leader, Quiant’e demonstrates excellence, compassion, and professionalism in every setting. She is committed to providing patient-centered care while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.

At I am Me Services, she also plays an important role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through community-based, person-centered services that promote independence, dignity, and inclusion across Central Virginia.

Her journey reflects resilience, balancing a demanding healthcare career while raising two children and continuing to grow as a leader.

We celebrate women like Quiant’e who are making an impact in healthcare, disability advocacy, and their communities every day.

Thank you Governor Wes Moore for proclaiming March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM) in Maryland.

DDAM recognizes how people with developmental disabilities contribute to our state. Maryland is stronger when people with and without disabilities live, learn, work, and play together in our communities.

As Black History Month comes to a close, we pause to honor the legacy, resilience, and courage of those who paved the way for equity, access, and opportunity. Their sacrifices and achievements continue to inspire the work we do every day.

I am Me Services is proud to be a Black-owned, community-based organization guided by the leadership of Executive Director Dr. Andrea Banks. Our mission is rooted in advocacy, empowerment, and inclusion. We remain committed to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through person-centered, trauma-informed care that promotes dignity, independence, and meaningful community engagement.

As we step into Women’s History Month, we celebrate the impact of Black women in leadership, healthcare, disability advocacy, and community change. Their strength, vision, and dedication continue to shape stronger and more inclusive communities. Representation matters. Leadership matters. Community matters.

This work does not end with a month. It is a lifelong commitment to equity, empowerment, and creating opportunities for those we serve. We honor the past, lead in the present, and continue building a future where every individual is valued, respected, and supported to thrive.

Thank you to our families, staff, and community partners for being part of this journey.

Equality is giving everyone the same. Equity is giving everyone what they need. Justice is removing the barriers altogether. 💛

We believe true inclusion means meeting individuals where they are and providing the support that allows them to thrive. Person-centered care is not one-size-fits-all. It is about understanding strengths, honoring differences, and creating opportunities for every individual to succeed.

We are committed to advancing equity, access, and meaningful community integration for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities every day.

Because everyone deserves the chance to belong, grow, and live a full and empowered life.

Community. Confidence. Connection. 🧩

This week, one of the individuals we support had the opportunity to volunteer in the community alongside our Community Coaching team. From learning new skills to building confidence and independence, every moment was meaningful.

We believe true growth happens in real-life experiences. We are proud to support individuals as they explore their strengths, give back, and become active members of their community.

This is what Community Coaching looks like. 🧩
