Today I honor and remember MLK Jr. by remembering what truly matters. We are all human beings first. Every single one of us deserves to be judged by our character, not by the color of our skin, our religion, or where we come from.
Skin profiling, ethnic profiling, and religious profiling all divide us. None of them reflect love, humanity, or respect. If you believe in God, ask yourself, "Would my God be ok with this?" I know mine wouldn't be ok with any of it.
At the heart of it all is something simple and powerful: treat others the way you would want to be treated. With kindness. With dignity. With compassion and respect.
If we could truly live that out, the world would look very different and ALL of us would be much happier.

I love this!! Full disclosure: I don’t have kids but I have lived with several kids and I’m around kids all the time (I’m a true believer that it takes a village to raise a child). Setting expectations works so much better than trying to disrupt what they’re doing, to do what you want them to. Also, another tip, when we are in the car, I drive slowly on the last block from our destination and make sure to get their attention and give them instructions of what is expected when we arrive. It works so much better because you have their undivided attention rather than after they get out of the car and have plans of their own 😂.

Pope Leo XIV visited the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, on Saturday during his first foreign trip since becoming pontiff. Leo will then travel to Lebanon as part of an ongoing effort to promote interfaith dialogue.

I have been laughing all morning because I went to get my annual mammogram. They tell you not to put on any deodorant or lotions or anything. I showered right before the appointment and by the time I got there, my armpits already stunk 🤦🏻‍♀️. And the first thought that came to my mind was……

Anytime you’ve had a chaotic day.. Take a walk, drive slower, take a longer route home, or take a short nap….. But just breathe and remember to go easy on yourself. Tomorrow is another day..
